ThreatXIntel is seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join our platform engineering team in Bengaluru. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and cloud-native systems to support genomic data processing, clinical workflows, and diagnostic applications.

You will work with Python, Django, REST APIs, AWS Serverless services, event-driven architectures, databases, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.

• 4+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Hands-on Django experience.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and Django.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, background workers, serverless functions, and data migration tools.
• Develop and operate event-driven, serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.
• Design scalable data processing pipelines and distributed backend systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues involving databases, message queues, caching layers, and cloud storage.
• Optimize application performance through database query tuning, indexing, caching, and asynchronous processing.
• Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL to design database schemas and improve query performance.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment processes.
• Use Docker and AWS deployment services to support reliable application delivery.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Mentor team members and promote coding standards, testing practices, and engineering excellence.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous system reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-aligned technical solutions.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Python Software Engineer with strong expertise in Django and AWS Serverless technologies to join our platform engineering team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and cloud-native systems that support genomic data processing, clinical workflows, and diagnostic applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Python, Django, REST APIs, AWS Serverless services, event‑driven architectures, database optimization, and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build reliable, high‑performance systems while contributing to architectural decisions and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and Django.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Python backend development.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Django.
• Experience developing REST APIs and scalable backend services.
• Strong experience with AWS Serverless technologies:
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon API Gateway
  • Amazon SQS and SNS
  • AWS Step Functions
  • Amazon EventBridge
• Good understanding of event‑driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including database design and query optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience with Docker and AWS deployments.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support skills.
• Understanding of application scalability, performance optimization, reliability, and security.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience participating in code reviews and technical design discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building cloud‑native and serverless applications at scale.
• Knowledge of multi‑region deployments and distributed system reliability.
• Experience working with complex data processing workflows.
• Exposure to healthcare, biotechnology, genomics, diagnostics, or scientific applications is an advantage.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical architecture decisions.
