Job summary

Natwest Digitalx is seeking a Software Engineer at associate level in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building scalable backend systems, REST APIs and microservices using FastAPI while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance software.

You will work in a feature-driven squad, shaping architecture, writing robust tests, and maintaining production-grade code across the full software lifecycle from design to deployment.

Qualifications

• At least five years hands-on Python backend development experience with production-grade REST APIs and microservices using FastAPI.
• Strong experience with MongoDB and AWS, including data modelling, cloud deployment, performance optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Solid engineering practices across Git, CI/CD, testing, Docker, API security, monitoring and production support.
• Background in solving highly complex analytical and numerical problems; focus on scalability, automation, and performance.

What you'll do

In your new role, youll engineer and maintain innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions.

Youll be working within a feature team and using your extensive experience to engineer software, scripts and tools that are often complex, as well as liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform.

Youll also be:

The skills you'll need

To take on this role, youll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports our customers.

Youll also need:

• Experience of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
