Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB. The ideal candidate is strong in debugging, core backend problem-solving, architecting scalable systems, and leveraging AI-driven approaches to enhance development and design workflows. You will play a key role in designing backend infrastructure, building robust APIs, improving system performance, and mentoring teams through technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development & Architecture Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems and microservices.
• Develop RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with frontend and third-party services.
• Lead the design of end-to-end system architecture, including infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Database & Storage Work extensively with MongoDB including schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning.
• Optimize queries and data models for scalable, high-throughput applications.
• Debugging & Problem Solving Debug complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver robust fixes.
• Identify systemic issues and propose long-term solutions.
• Create detailed use cases, troubleshoot technical debt, and improve existing codebases.
• AI & Productivity Enhancement Leverage AI tools to accelerate development workflows (e.g., debugging, architecture suggestions, documentation).
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI into backend systems and automation tasks.
• Infra & DevOps Collaboration Contribute to infrastructure planning: cloud services, containerization, CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring.
• Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA).
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks such as FastAPI (mandatory).
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB (mandatory).
• Excellent debugging, code-analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of backend design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, and API security.
• Experience designing scalable infrastructure.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, CI/CD (preferred).
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and use-case diagrams.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve development efficiency.
