Job summary

Wipro is seeking an experienced automation engineer to design, program, simulate and test an advanced Python-based automation platform. You will build a distributed task scheduler, robust job queuing, and a flexible scheduling engine with on-demand, delayed, and scheduled execution.

The role includes creating a plugin system to integrate with multiple data sources like PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Kafka, and enabling scalable, fault-tolerant operations.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in automation or software development.
• Experience designing distributed schedulers and extensible plugins.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a distributed task scheduler library in Python with a focus on extensibility, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop a robust job queuing and execution system that retrieves tasks from a central database.
• Create a flexible scheduling engine supporting on demand, delayed and scheduled execution.
• Build an extensible plugin architecture enabling seamless integration with multiple event sources (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Kafka, and others).
• Implement horizontal scaling mechanisms to distribute workload across multiple worker nodes.
• Design and develop a job registration API that allows developers to easily add new job types to the system.

Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to design, program, simulate and test the automation product or process to achieve the efficiency and effectiveness required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a distributed task scheduler library in Python with a focus on extensibility, scalability, and reliability
• Develop a robust job queuing and execution system that retrieves tasks from a central database
• Create a flexible scheduling engine supporting on demand, delayed and scheduled execution
• Build an extensible plugin architecture enabling seamless integration with multiple event sources (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Kafka, and others)
• Implement horizontal scaling mechanisms to distribute workload across multiple worker nodes
• Design and develop a job registration AP! that allows developers to easily add new job types to the system

Platform Features

• Real-time job execution monitoring and status tracking
• Detailed Logging and tracing capabilities
• Performance metrics and health checks
• Implement fault tolerance and retry mechanisms with configurable backoff strategies
• Createdeadletter queue functionality for failed job handling
• Build priority-based job execution with resource allocation control

Technical Requirements

• Python, OpenShift/Kubernetes, MSSQL, Kibana (for monitoring)
• Experience with git and CI/CD based development

Zero disruption/ error in deployment
EWS on risks and deployment of mitigation measures
