Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Python Developer at the Assistant Manager / Lead Assistant Manager level to drive data extraction, pipeline automation, and ETL workflows. In this role, you will be responsible for building robust database connections, integrating third-party APIs, and engineering scalable data pipelines across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Processing & Analytics: Build high-performance data processing routines, transformations, and numerical computations using Python, Pandas, and NumPy.
- Database Connectivity & Automation: Develop automated scripts to interact with relational databases using PyODBC and native connectors; write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows.
- API Integration: Design and implement ingestion pipelines utilizing REST/SOAP APIs for automated data extraction, reporting, and inter-system synchronization.
- Cloud & Modern Data Platforms: Integrate workflows with cloud ecosystems (preferably AWS) and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake.
- Legacy & Modern Pipeline Maintenance: Support, migrate, and modernize existing data workflows, including integration or migration touchpoints with SAS.
- Code Quality & Testing: Write modular, well-documented, test-driven Python code, ensuring reliable execution and scheduled batch monitoring.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Experience: 3 to 8 years of hands-on software development/data engineering experience in Python.
- Core Python: Advanced proficiency in Python data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, etc.).
- Database & Connectivity: Strong expertise in SQL along with hands-on experience using database interfaces like PyODBC, SQLAlchemy, or similar drivers.
- ETL & Data Ingestion: Proven track record in developing end-to-end ETL pipelines, web services/API consumption, and task automation.
- Availability: Immediate joiners or candidates currently serving notice period.
Preferred / Good-to-Have
- Exposure to cloud services, particularly AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, EC2).
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with Snowflake architecture and query tuning.
- Prior experience working with or migrating legacy systems using SAS.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Airflow, Cron) and version control (Git).
