Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a skilled Python Developer to build, maintain, and scale backend services and data systems from Pune. You will design high-performance microservices, robust RESTful APIs, and reliable data pipelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Minimum 5+ years in backend Python, with FastAPI/Django/Flask experience. Strong PostgreSQL/MySQL, Docker, Git, and pytest skills are required for robust, scalable solutions.

• API Design: RESTful architectures and JSON.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: design, build, and maintain scalable Python backends and microservices.

Job Title: Python Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, efficient backend applications and microservices using Python.
• Code Quality & Architecture: Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to OOP principles, interface-driven design, and type hints.
• Database Management: Design database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and manage data integrations (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL).
• API & System Integration: Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services and cloud infrastructure into existing applications.
• Testing & Security: Write comprehensive unit/integration tests and enforce secure coding practices (handling secrets, authentication, and authorization).
• Collaboration: Work alongside front-end engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver feature releases.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional backend software development experience in Python.
• Frameworks: Proven experience with modern Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Databases & SQL: Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and writing optimized SQL.
• API Design: Deep understanding of RESTful architecture, JSON, and web service security.
• Tools & Practices: Proficiency with Git, containerization (Docker), and writing automated tests using frameworks like pytest.
• Core Concepts: Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), asynchronous programming and software design patterns.
