Job summary

Ascendion in Pune seeks a skilled Python Developer to build, maintain, and scale backend services and data pipelines. You will design high‑performance microservices and robust RESTful APIs in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in backend Python, experience with FastAPI/Django/Flask, relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), REST APIs, Git, Docker, and pytest. You will ensure code quality, security, and effective collaboration across DevOps and product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience in Python.
• Proven experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL/MySQL and writing optimized SQL.
• Deep understanding of RESTful architecture, JSON, and web service security.
• Proficiency with Git, Docker, and automated tests (pytest).
• Solid grasp of OOP, asynchronous programming, and design patterns.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer to build, maintain, and scale our backend services and data systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design high‑performance microservices, robust RESTful APIs, and reliable data pipelines.

Job Title: Python Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, efficient backend applications and microservices using Python.
• Code Quality & Architecture: Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well‑documented code adhering to OOP principles, interface‑driven design, and type hints.
• Database Management: Design database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and manage data integrations (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL).
• API & System Integration: Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party services and cloud infrastructure into existing applications.
• Testing & Security: Write comprehensive unit/integration tests and enforce secure coding practices (handling secrets, authentication, and authorization).
• Collaboration: Work alongside front‑end engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver feature releases.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional backend software development experience in Python.
• Frameworks: Proven experience with modern Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Databases & SQL: Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and writing optimized SQL.
• API Design: Deep understanding of RESTful architecture, JSON, and web service security.
• Tools & Practices: Proficiency with Git, containerization (Docker), and writing automated tests using frameworks like pytest.
• Core Concepts: Solid grasp of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP), asynchronous programming and software design patterns.
