Job Summary

If you are a professional Planning Manager who is looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting role for you based in Mahindra World City, Chennai, India. In this position, you will drive consistent, world-class material practices that promote excellence across our operations.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Responsible for preparing and supporting the President's Operating Review (POR) reporting, material plan for backlog, and service level reporting.
  • Preparing Quarterly, Monthly, Weekly & Daily production plans.
  • Effective forecast planning and plan Book to ship order material requirements.
  • Reviewing scheduled sales orders and providing promise dates by reviewing material availability and production capacity.
  • Reviewing shortages for work orders and expediting the purchase team for arranging timely deliveries.
  • Releasing work orders to the shop floor as per schedule.
  • Expediting the warehouse for issuing work orders and QC/QA for timely delivery of products to ensure on-time delivery of valves to the customer.
  • Reviewing planning when sales order specs, drawings, and BOMs are revised, which can result in addition/modification of materials in work orders and shop planning.
  • Maintaining planning files for sales orders from entry to last valve delivery.
  • Scheduling plans for subcontract work orders for items that need to be sent for further processing.
  • Ability to manage the SIOP process for identifying demand, forecast, and supply.
  • Developing and maintaining the Production Planning Release Schedule in line with customer requirements and production targets.
  • Developing/improving the Materials & Capacity Planning process to achieve efficient inventory levels and manage E&O provision activity.
  • Maintaining and communicating the prospective lead times.
  • Participating in planning-related growth programs, strategic plans, and key operations plans.
  • Managing a group of employees to maintain department standards in efficiency and productivity.
  • Implementing Express Offer & Preferred Parts management.
  • Coordinating sales, marketing, customer service, operations, and procurement to establish a mature process for Ship from Stock & Assemble-to-Order Products.
  • Reviewing product family trends, managing mix, and providing support to the site planning managers to establish root cause analysis for inventory or service issues.
  • Establishing common metrics, data definitions, and business processes to support service level, inventory, and demand/forecast improvements.
  • Continuously improving efficiency and effectiveness; ensuring the right people are in the right place with adequate support.
  • Ensuring the system and resources to achieve objectives.
  • Managing, controlling, and optimizing resources to achieve goals and accepted results.

You serve as a strategic partner to manage data, analyze, present, and provide solutions. You serve as a change agent with excellent influencing skills across all organizational levels in a multicultural environment.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Engineering degree with relevant planning and scheduling experience and a total experience of 10+ years.
  • Good command of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good communication, negotiation, and people leadership skills.
  • Basic finance and costing knowledge is preferred.
  • Must be a dedicated & self-motivated leader.
  • Must be proficient in ERP systems; Fourth Shift and Oracle experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or any related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
