Job summary

CanKids KidsCan in India seeks a Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Psychologist to lead the Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP) and coordinate psychological services across hospitals, clinics and tele-consultation.

You will conduct face-to-face, online and telephonic interventions, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; training and research duties are involved.

Qualifications

  • Education MA in Psychology.
  • 1–3 years in clinical, counseling, or pediatric psychology (preferably in healthcare or NGO).

  • Plan and implement the Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP).
  • Coordinate psychological services in hospitals, clinics, and tele-consultation.
  • Conduct face-to-face, online, and telephonic intervention clinics.
  • Administer assessments using psychometric tools, interviews, and observations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Provide follow-ups, referrals, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Train psychologists, social workers, and students in pediatric psycho-oncology.
  • Design tools and conduct research for evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain case records and program reports.

Key Responsibilities
A. Program Planning and Implementation
  • Plan andimplement the Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP).
  • Support indeveloping protocols, policies, and administrative frameworks.
  • Coordinatepsychological services in hospitals, clinics, and through tele-consultation.
B. Psychological Services
  • Conductface-to-face, online, and telephonic psychological intervention clinics.
  • Administerpsychological assessments using psychometric tools, interviews, andobservations.
  • Provide therapyand counseling across treatment phases (diagnosis, treatment, relapse,palliative, bereavement).
  • Developindividualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Providefollow-ups, make referrals, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
C. Group and Expressive Therapies
  • Conduct Sharing& Caring Sessions with parents and medical teams.
  • Implementexpressive therapies (play, art, music, storytelling, relaxation, clowntherapy).
  • Lead proceduralpain interventions using non-pharmacological approaches.
D. Child Life Interventions
  • Promotechild-friendly environments, libraries, and wish-granting activities.
E. Patient & Parent Psycho-Education
  • Organize sessionson stress management, behavioral challenges, and coping mechanisms.
F. Advisory and YANA Program
  • Providepsychological consultation to team members.
  • Implement andmonitor the “You Are Not Alone” (YANA) Program.
G. Capacity Building
  • Trainpsychologists, social workers, students, and professionals in pediatricpsycho-oncology.
H. Research and Impact Assessment
  • Design tools andprojects for psychological interventions.
  • Conduct researchand publish findings to support evidence-based practice.
I. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain caserecords, online patient data, monthly and annual reports.
  • Prepare patientcase studies and programmatic reports.
J. Resource Development
  • Developdirectories and connect with external support services.
  • Facilitate accessto counseling and rehabilitation services.
K. Organizational Engagement
  • Contribute toother aligned projects and organizational programs as required.
Other Extended Duties
  • Performadditional tasks as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Requirements

Education: MA in Psychology

Experience: 1–3 years inclinical, counseling, or pediatric psychology (preferably in a healthcare orNGO setting)
