Job description

Founded in 2022, Ethereal Exploration Guild (The Guild) is building the World's First Fully Reusable Medium-Lift Launch Vehicle/Rocket, Razor Crest Mk-1(RCM1).

Based in India, the team has a combined flight heritage of over 75 launches from the PSLV and GSLV fleets, and more than 300 years of collective experience in the space industry. The Guild is also developing a 700,000 sq ft facility dedicated to Upper Stage Engine Testing, which is going to be India’s largest privately developed Engine Testing Facility.

The Guild has also built and manufactured India's First Reusable Rocket Engine.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join the Hands of the Guild as a Propulsion Test Engineer.

Job-Type: On-site, Monday - Saturday
Role Summary:

We are looking for a Propulsion Test Engineer with over 3 years of hands-on experience in liquid rocket engine testing, high-pressure fluid systems, instrumentation, and automated test sequence development. The role will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting engine and propulsion system tests from component-level testing through hot-fire campaigns.

The engineer will develop and operate test sequences, control systems, instrumentation and safety interlocks while working closely with propulsion, avionics, mechanical, software and operations teams. The role requires strong hands-on troubleshooting, test-data analysis and a focus on safe, repeatable and reliable propulsion testing.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Propulsion Testing: Plan execute and support liquid rocket engine cold-flow, component, subsystem and hot-fire testing.
  • High-Pressure Test Systems: Operate and integrate high-pressure fluid systems, valves, instrumentation, test hardware and safety systems.
  • Test Sequence & Control: Develop automated test sequences, control logic, interlocks, permissives, abort logic and emergency shutdown systems.
  • Instrumentation & Data Acquisition: Integrate pressure, temperature, flow and other sensors, and ensure reliable synchronized data acquisition during testing.
  • Test Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyse test data, investigate anomalies and performance deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in liquid rocket engine or high-pressure propulsion testing.
  • Experience with hot-fire, cold-flow and component-level propulsion testing.
  • Strong understanding of high-pressure fluid systems, valves, regulators, pressurization and feed systems.
  • Experience developing automated test sequences, control logic, interlocks, permissives and abort logic.
  • Hands-on experience with pressure, temperature, flow and other propulsion instrumentation.
  • Experience with DAQ systems, test automation and real-time monitoring.
  • Strong ability to analyse test data and troubleshoot propulsion and test-system anomalies.
  • Experience preparing test procedures, test plans, checklists and post-test reports.
  • Strong understanding of test safety, pressure-system hazards and safe test operations.
  • Ability to work closely with propulsion, avionics, instrumentation, mechanical and software teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field.
  • Experience testing liquid rocket engines, turbopumps, gas generators, injectors, valves or feed systems.
