Job summary

Delta Technology Hub in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an aerospace/mechanical engineer to join the Propulsion Engineering team. You will help manage safety, reliability and lifecycle performance of Delta’s engine fleets across shop support, maintenance planning, and OEM interface.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, knowledge of aircraft engines and shop processes, plus strong communication and teamwork skills. Travel may be required as part of project work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (aerospace or mechanical preferred) or comparable experience in an engineering related discipline.
  • Technical knowledge of aircraft engines, engine shop processes, engine manuals and standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with the repair or design of gas turbine or turbofan engines.
  • Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines.
  • Familiarity with airline flight operations and support system.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles.

Responsibilities

  • The Engineer will support Delta’s Propulsion Engineering team in managing the safety, reliability and lifecycle performance of Delta’s engine fleets.
  • Assist shop support engineering teams with configuration specification and workscope planning guide updates and module soft time analysis.
  • Develop initial Delta TechOps workscope from OEM maintenance instructions for OEM integrated MRO shops.
  • Collect key data for out of limits damage conditions and assist in OEM case requests or Delta developed repair solutions.
  • Participate in workscope escalation and scrap disposition reviews to support workscope optimization.
  • Integrate typical repairs into Delta manuals to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce job stops.
  • Review post-shop visit engine test rejections and collaborate with Shop Support Engineering to reduce return to shop events.
  • Support development of Shop Visit Reports and Failure Investigation Reports for Delta and MRO customer engine shop visits at Delta TechOps.

The Engineer will support Delta’s Propulsion Engineering team in managing the safety, reliability and lifecycle performance of Delta’s engine fleets through one or more of the following capacities:

  • Off-wing / Shop Technical Support
  • Assists the shop support engineering teams with configuration specification and workscope planning guide updates and module soft time analysis
  • Develops initial Delta TechOps workscope from OEM maintenance instructions for OEM integrated MRO shops (i.e. Rolls-Royce Trent, Pratt & Whitney GTF)
  • Collects key data for out of limits damage conditions and assists in the development of OEM case requests or Delta developed repair solutions
  • Participates in workscope escalation and scrap disposition reviews to support workscope optimization
  • Integrates typical repairs into Delta manuals to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce job stops
  • Reviews post-shop visit engine test rejections and collaborates with Shop Support Engineering to reduce return to shop events
  • Supports development of Shop Visit Reports and Failure Investigation Reports for Delta and MRO customer engine shop visits at Delta TechOps
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
