Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids in Chennai seeks a Senior Quality Specialist to lead MTP preparation in PIMS and input from PQM. You will manage data, prepare inspection notifications, coordinate inspections with customers and suppliers, witness FAT when needed, and ensure all reports comply with ITP.

The role requires 5–7 years in tendering, project management and on-site quality control in EPC/LSTK/HVDC projects, ISO 9001 knowledge, Salesforce and Power BI familiarity, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 5-7 years in tendering, project management, and on-site quality control in EPC/LSTK/HVDC projects.
• ISO 9001 knowledge; Power BI proficiency an advantage.
• Ability to interpret SLD/BOM/BOQ and coordinate inspections.
• Familiarity with Salesforce; proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update MTP in PIMS; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Prepare inspection notifications based on MTP and input from stakeholders and suppliers.
• Coordinate inspections with customers; ensure alignment with planned inspections.
• Witness FAT at supplier locations or review inspection reports per ITP.
• Ensure reports comply with ITP; maintain quality reports (IR, test reports, TTR, calibration reports).
• Document results from inspections.
• Maintain a functional status summary including ITP approval, inspection, and shipping clearance.
• Maintain the QCP summary based on supplier responses; coordinate with project team.
• Inform business and application owner of T-NPS improvements and requirements.
• Maintain status summary including planning, response, comments, and trends.
• Ensure compliance with external/internal regulations and guidelines.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Quality Specialist to join our team. In this role you will prepare MTP in PIMS based on contractual requirements and input received from PQM.

How you’ll make an impact

• Maintaining and updating data in the MTP on regular intervals in PIMS by coordinating with stakeholders.
• Preparing inspection notifications based on the MTP and information received from stakeholders and suppliers.
• Coordinating inspections with customers and ensure alignment with planned inspections.
• Witnessing FAT at supplier locations or reviewing inspection reports/requirements in line with ITP as needed.
• Ensuring that reports comply with ITP and maintain all quality reports (IR, test reports, TTR, calibration reports on measuring instruments, etc.) in line with ITP.
• Documenting results from inspections.
• Maintaining a functional status summary, including ITP approval, inspection, and shipping clearance.
• Maintaining the QCP summary based on supplier responses and coordinating with the project team for updates.
• Collecting and informing business and application owner of T-NPS on improvements and requirements.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in tendering processes, project management, and on-site quality control, particularly in EPC / LSTK / HVDC projects.
• Proficiency in ISO 9001 standards & in Power BI is an additional advantage.
• Proficiency in inspection procedures and coordination of electrical and mechanical Equipment with the ability to interpret SLD, BOM/BOQ.
• Understanding of Salesforce and handling customer feedback.
• Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Power Bi. quickly.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills working under pressure.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
