You will be part of a dedicated engineering team supporting Toorak Capital Partners, a leading U.S.-based integrated correspondent lending platform that funds residential, multifamily, and mixed‑use real estate loans across the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, Toorak’s leadership team brings deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak‑funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for 9,000+ families — averaging 500+ families every month. This is a rare opportunity to build mission‑critical, cloud‑based mortgage technology platforms that directly support one of the most respected players in the global mortgage finance industry.

Forget Everything You Know About Project Management

This isn’t a role for someone who lives in status meetings and colour‑coded Gantt charts. We need a delivery leader who thinks in systems, moves in sprints, and makes hard calls — fast.

The Mission

Own the end‑to‑end delivery of complex, high‑stakes tech initiatives — across web applications, APIs, and operational platforms — from the first line of discovery to the final push to production. You're not a coordinator. You're the force that keeps engineering, product, and QA moving as one.

What You'll Drive

• Architect and own the delivery rhythm — sprint planning, release cadences, and retrospective loops — with precision and intent.
• Lead cross‑functional squads through full‑SDLC cycles: design, build, test, deploy, ship, repeat.
• Operate as the risk radar — surface dependencies, call out blockers, and execute mitigation before the team feels the friction.
• Translate technical complexity into sharp, audience‑ready narratives — from engineering stand‑ups to C‑suite briefings.
• Own the metrics. Analyze velocity trends, delivery gaps, and sprint health to continuously push performance forward.
• Govern the backlog ruthlessly — every undelivered feature has a home, a plan, and an owner.
• Partner with PMO and senior leadership to drive trade‑off decisions with clarity and speed.

What You Bring

• 6–10 years owning tech delivery in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments — startup DNA preferred.
• Deep command of Agile: Scrum, Kanban, sprint execution, and release governance — not just the theory.
• A track record of leading delivery of web applications, APIs, and operational tools from kick‑off to production — steering teams, not writing code.
• The instinct to lead without authority — aligning engineers, designers, and product owners around a shared outcome.
• Surgical communication: you make complex delivery information crisp, clear, and impossible to ignore.
• Pioneer AI‑driven process innovation across teams and platforms — reimagining how delivery works, not just automating how it’s reported.
• Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems — or the scars to prove equivalent experience.

Bonus Points

• CSM or equivalent Scrum Master/Project Manager certification.
• Experience in fintech, mortgage tech, or regulated financial services.
