Job summary

Cummins Inc. seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver supply chain transformation programs, managing multiple cross-functional projects from inception to completion.

You will partner with business and functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement across planning, procurement, and warehousing while aligning with enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Supply Chain is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of supply chain transformation programs comprising multiple cross-functional projects, ensuring delivery against defined business outcomes.
  • Drive global alignment to functional standards, processes, and transformation initiatives by connecting site-level needs with enterprise strategies.
  • Facilitate project planning sessions to define scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Establish and monitor project performance goals, ensuring alignment with financial, delivery, and schedule targets.
  • Drive structured and transparent communication across operational, functional, and program teams to ensure clarity, readiness, and early risk identification.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies using standard tools; develop mitigation strategies and drive resolution.
  • Plan and manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure efficient execution.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making by leveraging KPIs, analytics, and insights to balance trade-offs across supply chain metrics.
  • Coach and guide project teams and other project managers; provide developmental feedback and share best practices across programs.
  • Ensure complete and accurate project documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders and project sponsors.

Job Summary

Manages, develops, and implements project(s) of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area. Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Leads multiple projects from inception to completion; facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline. Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues. Monitors and communicates project status to project team. Plans and monitors project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines. Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions. Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project. Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments. Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
  • Intermediate level of experience required. 3-5 years of relevant work experience preferred.

In order to do this the successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in project management, ideally within supply chain functions
  • Strong knowledge of end to end supply chain processes through current/prior/adjacent roles; incl. demonstrable hands-on experience
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional projects or large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working in global, matrixed, and multicultural environments preferred.
Qualifications
