Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager / Scrum Lead (Business Process Analyst) to join our India GCC – GCIO ETL Services - CAT IT Division. This hybrid role combines project management with business analysis, guiding cross-functional projects and driving process improvements. It requires strong project management skills and the ability to analyze business needs, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable solutions.

This role is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects within strict deadlines and budget, coordinating resources, and working with team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver according to plan. The Project Manager will define objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle, requiring excellent leadership, attention to detail, and effective stakeholder communication. Preference is for this role to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN.

Job Roles and Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals, coordinating managers and technical personnel through all project phases from development to implementation.
  • Scope Management: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and supervise project teams and foster accountability for assigned work.
  • Resource Allocation: Identify dependencies and critical paths, assign tasks, and optimize resources to ensure project success.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure timely milestone completion.
  • Risk Management: Proactively manage scope changes, identify crises, and devise contingency plans with mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate project expectations, prepare progress reports, requirements documents, and presentations.
What you will have
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are highly desirable.
  • Overall 7+ years of experience in IT.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in project management with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills; exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certifications in project management; experience in relevant industry (IT, Manufacturing).
  • Change management and process improvement experience; ability to work in global/multinational environments; experience leading remote or distributed teams.

Skills desired

Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis methods, how to identify needs, and recommend value-adding solutions. Includes tools and techniques for requirements gathering, stakeholder collaboration, and documentation of business cases.

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production systems used for service delivery to internal and external clients; ability to leverage these systems in diverse situations, including contingency planning and issue investigation.

Information Capture: Ability to document relevant information in an auditable, organized way; capabilities to improve records retention processes and train others on documentation practices.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to determine root causes and create alternative solutions; uses structured approaches and data-driven reasoning.

Relationship Management: Maintains productive relationships with clients, vendors, and peers; negotiates and reviews work progress.

IT Environment: Understanding IT needs from the business perspective and how to align with IT policies and practices.

IT Standards, Procedures & Policies: Knowledge of IT standards and policies and how to implement and report on them; supports IT projects and policy design.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of integrating applications and data across platforms; participates in integration initiatives and migration planning.
