Job summary

Protiviti India is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cybersecurity programs and initiatives across the organization from Mumbai. You will coordinate multiple security projects, manage budgets, schedules, and governance, and drive change across stakeholders.

The role requires 8–12 years IT experience with at least 5 years in project/program management for cybersecurity initiatives, including risk and compliance programs, vendor coordination, and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (CS/IT/electronics/cybersecurity) is mandatory.
• Master’s degree in IT/cybersecurity or MBA is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of project/program management experience in cybersecurity or information security.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager Cybersecurity Programs & Initiatives to lead and coordinate multiple cybersecurity, compliance, governance, infrastructure security, and risk management projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Management

• Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple cybersecurity and information security projects simultaneously.
• Develop project charters, plans, budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and governance frameworks.
• Build and maintain detailed project schedules, Work Breakdown Structures, Gantt charts, baselines and critical-path analysis using Microsoft Project (or equivalent).
• Monitor project progress, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, and budget.
• Establish project governance, steering committee reviews, and status reporting mechanisms.
• Manage change control, scope variations, and formal handover / transition of completed projects to BAU operations support.
• Coordinate with internal teams, business stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.

Cybersecurity Initiatives Management

Manage and track initiatives such as:

• Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Security Operations Centre (SOC)
• Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT)
• Email Security
• Security Awareness & Phishing Simulation Programs
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• IT Asset Management
• Cloud Security
• Network Security Enhancements
• Audit & Compliance Remediation Projects
• NIST CSF / ISO 27001 / PCI DSS Compliance and certification Programs

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business leaders, technology teams, auditors, and external partners.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and steering committee discussions.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and escalations to management.
• Drive user adoption, training and organizational change management for newly implemented security and IT platforms.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Track audit observations and remediation activities.
• Ensure cybersecurity initiatives align with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits.

Vendor, Commercial & Resource Management

• Coordinate with cybersecurity vendors and implementation partners.
• Track deliverables, SLAs, budgets, and contract milestones.
• Support RFP / RFQ preparation, techno-commercial evaluation, SOW review, and negotiation in coordination with Procurement and Legal.
• Track CAPEX/OPEX budgets, purchase orders, invoicing and milestone-linked payments.
• Monitor vendor performance and project outcomes.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare executive dashboards and management updates.
• Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, status reports, and governance records.
• Present project progress to senior management and governance committees.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Cybersecurity, or related discipline) is mandatory.
• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Business Administration will be an advantage.

Experience

• 8–12 years of total IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years of project/program management experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing cybersecurity or information security initiatives.
• Demonstrable track record of at least 3–5 enterprise IT / Information Security projects successfully completed and closed on time and within budget – candidates should be prepared to present project references covering scope, value, duration, team size and measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent enterprise-wide projects.
• Experience delivering projects across multiple/geographically distributed sites, with exposure to greenfield rollouts, technology refresh, migration and decommissioning projects.
• Prior experience implementing security or IT platforms end-to-end (requirement gathering, PoC, design, implementation, UAT, go-live, hypercare and handover).
• Experience working in an ITIL/ITSM governed environment, including change, incident and problem management interfaces with project delivery.
• Experience in the travel, hospitality, retail or other multi-location operations environment will be an added advantage.
