Job summary

Smart4talent is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of an Accounting Platform Layer (APL) that automates accounting, GST validation, and financial reporting across multiple verticals. The role requires coordinating Finance, Engineering, QA, and external partners to ensure compliant and audit-ready operations.

The ideal candidate has 5–6 years in project management within tech/ERP contexts, strong stakeholder skills, and experience with Agile methods.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience in project management.
• Experience managing technology, accounting, ERP, or data-platform projects.
• Understanding of accounting fundamentals: Debit/Credit, General Ledger, Reconciliation.
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.
• Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Excel/Smartsheet.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to convert business requirements into actionable project plans and deliverables.
• Basic understanding of GST and taxation concepts.
• Working experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage end-to-end project plans, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
• Track implementation across accounting automation, reconciliation, GST validation, and reporting workstreams.
• Coordinate phase-wise sign-offs covering: Requirements, Design, Development, UAT, Go-Live, Hypercare.
• Act as the primary liaison between Finance, Engineering, QA, and external implementation partners.
• Facilitate project reviews, status meetings, and stakeholder updates.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies and ensure timely resolution of blockers.

• We are looking for a Project Manager to lead and manage the successful delivery of an Accounting Platform Layer (APL) designed to automate accounting, reconciliation, GST computation, validation, and financial reporting across multiple business verticals.
• The role requires strong coordination across Finance, Engineering, QA, and external implementation partners to ensure accurate, compliant, and audit-ready financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Delivery Management

• Own and manage end-to-end project plans, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
• Track implementation across accounting automation, reconciliation, GST validation, and reporting workstreams.
• Coordinate phase-wise sign-offs covering:
• Requirements
• Design
• Development
• UAT
• Go-Live
• Hypercare

2. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

• Act as the primary liaison between Finance, Engineering, QA, and external implementation partners.
• Facilitate project reviews, status meetings, and stakeholder updates.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies and ensure timely resolution of blockers.

3. Reconciliation & Accounting Automation

• Track implementation of automated reconciliation processes, including:
• Payment Gateway Reconciliation
• Payment Gateway Charges Reconciliation
• Airline/BSP Reconciliation
• Hotel Statement Reconciliation
• Gift Card Reconciliation
• DA vs NAV Reconciliation
• Ensure accounting processes meet business and compliance requirements.
• Support delivery of zero-variance reconciliation objectives.

4. GST & Financial Compliance Management

• Coordinate GST computation and validation requirements covering:
• CGST
• SGST
• IGST
• Track validation across markups, convenience fees, service fees, and commission components.
• Ensure compliance with applicable taxation and financial reporting requirements.

5. Data Migration & System Integration

• Manage migration of historical accounting and transaction data.
• Coordinate integrations across:
• Accounting Platform Layer (APL)
• ERP systems
• Financial systems
• Data warehouses
• Track integration milestones, dependencies, and data validation activities.

6. Reporting, Governance & Risk Management

• Drive delivery of business and financial reports, including:
• Order-to-Cash Reports
• Ageing Reports
• GMV Reports
• P&L Reports
• Exception Reports
• Operational Dashboards
• Maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
• Monitor project risks and proactively elevate issues.
• Ensure proper documentation of requirements, mappings, and source-of-truth definitions.
