Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Limited seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee energy infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality execution in line with company standards and client expectations.

You will manage full lifecycle, develop detailed plans, lead project teams, mitigate risks, manage finances, and maintain HSE and quality compliance while communicating progress to stakeholders. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or related field). A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management, with proven delivery of complex energy-sector projects (power transmission/distribution, renewable energy, industrial automation).
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PM methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience in managing budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local Indian languages is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial performance of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, internal teams, and senior management, providing regular project status updates.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools.
  • Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and final project documentation.
