Job summary

ZF Group in Chennai-Ambattur seeks an experienced Project Manager (PJM) to own cross-functional automotive programs. You will align product lines, manage BOMs, drive cost reductions, verify ideas commercially and technically, and lead the BlueBox project team to achieve QCD targets.

You will manage risks, escalate through formal channels, and ensure adherence to company and industry standards while delivering results with a global mindset and focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotives and project management (PJM).
• Manufacturing, sourcing, quality and process knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to lead multi-functional teams and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Verify ideas commercially and technically, build OP and Pipeline for portfolio/devices.
• Project execution with ownership to plan, track and manage actions to meet QCD targets.

• Anticipate risks and escalate through cost steering and regular PS meetings.
• Adhere to company and industry standards.

Your Tasks:

• Align with relative product line for priority list setting
• Owns the BOM for assigned devices and drives component cost reduction in close collaboration with PP (Supplier & Commodity interface) and TPjM (PE interface), applying various methods such as Workshop, Tech Day, Product Tear Down, Target Costing (with CE), Benchmarking etc.
• Verify ideas commercially and technically, build OP and Pipeline for assigned portfolio / devices
• Project execution with full ownership and accountability to plan, track and manage all necessary actions in line with accepted QCD targets
• Lead a Project Team (BlueBox), comprising of PP-Buyer, Technical Project Manager (TPjM) and other supportive functions
• Anticipate risks, apply proper problem solving and escalation through routine management on Site and Regional level by means of Cost Steering Committee and “Red Box Routine” and PS regular meeting
• Adhere to company Standards and common industry standards

Your profile:

• Min. 5 years working experience in automotives & PJM.
• Manufacturing, Sourcing, Project management, quality and process engineering knowledge (preferable)
• Be agile and creative – Be experimental – Be radical innovative – Be an entrepreneur
• Financial acumen, Gemba focused and able to deal with ambiguous situations
• Proven experience of in leading and managing multi-functional resources,
• Results driven and continuous improvement approach. Strategic and Global thinker and Business Acumen
