We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Lead with expertise in Mechanical technologies to join our Gurugram office. The ideal candidate should have 3 6 years of experience in the Intellectual Property (IP) industry, with a strong background in patent search and patent analysis within mechanical engineering domains such as automotive systems, industrial machinery, manufacturing technologies, consumer products, robotics, and related mechanical innovations. You will play a key role in executing and managing patent research projects, coordinating with internal teams, and delivering high-quality patent analysis and research insights to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute multiple patent research projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Conduct and oversee prior art searches, patentability searches, invalidation searches, freedom to-operate (FTO) studies, and patent landscape analysis in mechanical technologies.
- Develop effective and comprehensive search strategies using patent and non-patent literature databases.
- Ensure that all project deliverables are client-ready, technically accurate, well-structured, and free from errors.
- Review and validate search results, technical findings, claim charts, and reports before final delivery.
- Coordinate with team members, analysts, and Team Leads to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion.
- Maintain clear documentation of search strategies, findings, and project progress.
- Support client communication and clarification of technical requirements when required.
- Stay updated with latest developments in mechanical technologies and patent research methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- 3 6 years of experience in the Intellectual Property (IP) industry, preferably in mechanical technology-related patent research.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience in prior art searches, patentability analysis, FTO studies, invalidation searches, or patent landscape analysis.
- Proficiency in patent databases such as Orbit, PatSeer, Derwent Innovation, Google Patents, and Espacenet.
- Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and meet strict deadlines.
