Job summary

Phenom in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, is seeking a Safety Engineer to oversee SITC of DG sets, ensuring strict adherence to HSE norms during all phases from supply to commissioning.

You will review JSA, HIRA, and method statements, conduct site safety inductions and toolbox talks, and coordinate with clients and safety representatives to drive safe execution.

Experience with DG sets, proficiency in MS Office, and strong communication are essential to stop unsafe work and ensure safe project completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in SITC of DG sets is mandatory.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations during DG supply, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA, and method statements before work starts.
• Conduct site safety induction and toolbox talks for all workers and subcontractors.
• Supervise safe unloading, lifting, shifting, and positioning of DG sets and accessories.
• Verify third‑party certification and safe usage of lifting tools, tackles, and equipment.
• Monitor safety during DG foundation, mechanical installation, and alignment activities.
• Enforce electrical safety, lockout–tagout (LOTO), and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Ensure safe installation of fuel systems, exhaust systems, and acoustic enclosures.
• Oversee cable laying, termination, earthing, and electrical testing activities safely.
• Ensure barricading, signage, and restricted access during testing and commissioning.
• Monitor safety during no-load, load trials, and DG commissioning operations.
• Ensure availability and readiness of fire-fighting and emergency response equipment.
• Identify, report, and close unsafe acts, near misses, and hazardous conditions.
• Maintain daily safety records, checklists, and incident investigation reports.
• Coordinate with client, consultant, and statutory safety representatives.
• Implement environmental controls for diesel handling, spills, noise, and emissions.
• Exercise authority to stop work immediately in case of unsafe conditions.
• Capable of handling mechanical & electrical activities involved in SITC of DG sets.
