Job summary

Larsen & Toubro invites seasoned electrical engineers to lead GIS/AIS substation design for Oil & Gas projects up to 765 kV. You will drive engineering activities, ensure compliance with project specs, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 15+ years in substation design and multi-project execution, with hands-on experience in GIS/AIS up to 765 kV. You will mentor design engineers, manage schedules, and liaise with clients and vendors to deliver on time.

Qualifications

• GIS/AIS substation design up to 765 kV in Oil & Gas.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering activities for GIS/AIS substations up to 765 kV.
• Execute end-to-end engineering within schedule, quality, and cost targets.
• Align deliverables with project schedules and resolve engineering issues.
• Review design calculations, drawings, and client approvals.
• Oversee Primary Design, Secondary Design, Earthing, Cabling, SCADA, and Protection Systems.
• Coordinate vendor evaluations, clarifications, manufacturing clearances, and material delivery.
• Mentor design engineers and drafting teams for optimal performance.
• Support BOQ reviews, tender engineering, billing, and invoicing.
• Utilize MS Office, ETAP, PSCAD, CYMGRD, and project planning tools for design analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects involving GIS / AIS Substations up to 765 kV, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Execute end-to-end engineering activities within established schedule, quality, and cost targets to achieve successful project delivery.
• Align engineering deliverables with project schedules, conduct regular review meetings, and ensure timely resolution of engineering issues.
• Review and approve design calculations, engineering drawings, technical documents, client approvals, and submissions to maintain accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
• Oversee engineering activities related to Primary Design, Secondary Design, Earthing, Cabling, SCADA, and Protection Systems for Oil & Gas substation projects.
• Coordinate vendor evaluation, technical clarifications, manufacturing clearances, and material delivery activities to support seamless project execution.
• Lead and mentor Design Engineers and Drafting Teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation, improved productivity, and effective team performance.
• Support BOQ reviews, tender engineering activities, billing processes, and monthly invoicing requirements in coordination with project and commercial stakeholders.
• Utilize engineering and project management tools such as MS Office, ETAP, PSCAD, CYMGRD, and Project Planning Tools for design analysis, reporting, and project monitoring.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND INDUSTRY PREFERENCE:
• 15+ years of experience in Substation Design and Multi-project Execution, with significant exposure to Oil & Gas projects.
• Hands-on experience in the design and execution of GIS / AIS Substations up to 765 kV within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong understanding of substation engineering principles, applicable codes and standards, and multidisciplinary coordination requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, lead engineering teams, and ensure successful project delivery within defined objectives.
