- Collection and review of project inputs from the Front Office or customer through e‑mail, kick‑off meeting, site survey.
- Execute DCS and SCADA based Solar/BESS/Microgrid greenfield and retrofit projects, including software and hardware engineering and configuration.
- Guide team to implement controls from SAMA, functional diagrams or descriptions; modify DCS/SCADA graphics; create faceplate macros, control macros and perform testing.
- Create/modify DCS internal point database; extract HW IO list from customer drawings; prepare database; query with HW team and customer for clarification.
- Prepare and guide team on IO list and DBID; experience building blocks of DCS system (Binary gates, A/M stations, PIDs, etc.) and their testing; implement analogue and digital simulation logic for first pass and tie‑back simulation testing of implemented controls and graphics.
- Configure 3rd party protocols, ELC and SLC communication.
- Distribute engineering work to system integrators; follow up to complete project within budget, time, and quality; participate in kick‑off meetings, internal and external project meetings; engage in customer demos, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities.
- Experience with PSCAD and PSSE modeling to simulate and test power systems.
- Process test of Solar/BESS/Microgrid plants and BOP; knowledge of IEEE, IEC, NEC and grid codes; read electrical single‑line diagrams; understand devices in renewable power plant (inverters, transformers, capacitor banks, trackers, IEDs, etc.).
- Follow department Quality & HSE processes and procedures.
- Field Services:
- Ovation system power‑up, redundancy and I/O testing; analogue and digital device testing and fault finding.
- Maintain protocols for loop check, device check and panel charging; perform loop and device checking and necessary modifications in logic, graphics and database per customer and site requirements.
- Fault diagnosis of Ovation system, network system and communication interfaces (OPC, Modbus, DNP3, serial, IEC 61850).
- Work closely with engineering team for troubleshooting HW/SW (controllers, modules, link modules, etc.).
- Commission Solar/BESS/Microgrid plant for commercial operation; travel to project sites for assignments, testing and tuning of control functions, third‑party communication and commissioning.
- Customer facing and prepare site reports.
