Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking engineers with a strong foundation in process engineering to contribute to rigourous project work. The role involves reading P&ID drawings, performing mass and heat balance checks, and supporting pre and post-treatment concepts.

You will independently size lines, select equipment, and prepare technical packages for rotating and static equipment in line with relevant codes.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of P&ID and able to read heat and mass balance diagrams.
• Understanding of pre treatment, filtration and post treatment.
• Independently develop line sizing & velocity checks.
• Independently develop equipment lists with weight calculations.
• Familiar with MOC, piping specifications and codes like ASME/ASTM/API/DIN.
• Independently develop valve lists with optimized material constructs.
• Independently develop pump sizing for various pumps (centrifugal, reciprocating, axial, multistage).
• Independently develop blower sizing for different categories.

Responsibilities

• Review P&IDs and provide mark ups per project specifications and mass balance diagrams.
• Independently create equipment lists and perform weight calculations.
• Independently size pumps, blowers and valves per application requirements.
• Prepare technical packages for rotating and static equipment.
• Review fabrication drawings and piping spools for alignment with specs.
• Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Have basic understanding of P&ID and is able to read heat and mass balance diagrams.
• Has basic understanding in pre treatment, filtration and post treatment
• Review P&IDs and provide mark ups per project specification and mass balance diagram.
• Understand the P&IDs w.r.t. pressure, flow, storage level requirements, MOC detailing, dosing studies, product fact checks such as membrane details.
• Independently perform line sizing & velocity check calculations using applicable standards or best engineering practice
• Independently develop equipment list along with equipment weight calculations
• Thorough understanding and interpretation of MOCs, piping specifications with applicable codes & standards like ASME, ASTM, API, DIN
• Independently develop valve lists selecting compatible and optimized material constructs
• Independently develop pump sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal, reciprocating, axial, multistage pumps, etc.
• Independently develop blower sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal, reciprocating blowers
• Independently develop Engineering list as per project specification and requirement.
• Review & approve valve lists and other Engineering list of the projects.
• Independent preparation of technical package for rotating equipments likes pumps, blowers, centrifuge, compressors.
• Independent preparation of technical package preparation of static equipments like atmospheric tanks, filter housings
• Perform manual material take off from PIDs, facility arrangement drawings or hand sketches
• Review material take off with piping specifications
• Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress.
• Review Fabrication Drawing-Puddle Pipe, Spools, beam, hanger, lifting modules
