Job summary

Veolia is seeking an experienced engineer to support process design, P&ID reviews, and equipment sizing for water/wastewater projects. You will independently develop line sizing, equipment lists, and electrical loads, ensuring compliance with ASME/ASTM/API/DIN standards.

Responsibilities include markups on P&IDs, mass balance interpretation, and preparation of technical packages for rotating and static equipment, with close collaboration with modelers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of P&ID and heat/mass balance diagrams.
• Knowledge of pre-treatment, filtration and post-treatment processes.
• Ability to review P&IDs and provide markups per project specification and mass balance diagram.
• Familiar with tagging requirements (e.g., KKS tagging).
• Interpretation of MOCs and piping standards per codes.

• Manual material take offs from PIDs and drawings.
• Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress.

Job Description

Must Have Requirements

1. Have basic understanding of P&ID and are able to read heat and mass balance diagrams.

2. Has basic understanding in pre treatment, filtration and post treatment

3. Review P&IDs and provide mark ups per project specification and mass balance diagram.

4. Mark up P&IDs customer tagging or international tagging requirements, ex. KKS tagging

5. Fully understand the requirement and impact of heat & mass balance diagram and interpret on P&ID line flows.

6. Perform sanity checks of P&IDs w.r.t. pressure, flow, storage level requirements, MOC detailing, dosing studies, product fact checks such as membrane details.

7. Perform line sizing and velocity check calculations

8. Ensure correctness of P&ID and incorporate as sold requirements to customers on the P&IDs w.r.t to proposal engineering.

9. Ensure correctness, verify and cross check process projection calculations , ex membrane tank sizing, blower capacity and sizing , air for mixing requirements

10. Independently perform line sizing & velocity check calculations using applicable standards or best engineering practice

11. Independently develop equipment list along with equipment weight calculations

12. Thorough understanding and interpretation of MOCs, piping specifications with applicable codes & standards like ASME, ASTM, API, DIN

13. Independently develop valve lists selecting compatible and optimized material constructs

14. Independently develop electrical load lists along with electrical load calculations.

15. Independently develop pump sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal, reciprocating, axial, multistage pumps, etc.

16. Independently develop blower sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal, reciprocating blowers

17. Independently develop instrument list as per project specification

18. Review & approve line sizing & velocity check calculations for different fluid applications

19. Review & approve equipment lists along with equipment weight calculations

20. Review & approve valve lists

21. Independent preparation of technical package for critical commodities likes valves, instruments, specialty items such as bellows, ejectors

22. Independent preparation of technical package for rotating equipments likes pumps, blowers, centrifuge, compressors.

23. Independent preparation of technical package preparation of static equipments like atmospheric tanks, filter housings

24. Perform manual material take off from PIDs, facility arrangement drawings or hand sketches

25. Review material take off with piping specifications

26. Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress.

27. Review Fabrication Drawing-Puddle Pipe, Spools, beam, hanger, lifting modules

28. Exposure to Codes and Standards, Experience working with Global Customers/Global Delivery centres
