The role requires 17+ years in project management (5+ years in leadership) with a track record in large-scale EPC projects, excellent communication, and English fluency; French is a plus.

Qualifications

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Within the framework of Air Liquide policies and contract commitments (including HSES, quality, time & cost), the Project Manager is accountable for project delivery - within contractual requirements, quality, schedule and overall cost effectiveness - and Profit & Loss by managing all project activities and resources while ensuring client satisfaction. We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Project Director to lead complex EPC projects for Air Liquide. This role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Job Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions.
• Monitor project progress, track performance against metrics, and provide regular status reports to management and stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Air Liquide project management methodologies, standards, and governance.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between internal teams, external vendors, and business units.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools.
• Oversee vendor selection and management, ensuring deliverables meet contractual obligations and quality standards.

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

From his experience, identify and guide the drafting of critical clauses (cost impacts, deadlines, responsibilities) by the project.

Lead the processing of major claims (customer/supplier claims). (+ the same contributions as those of the Project Manager- see below)

Participate in the establishment of contracts necessary for the execution of projects.

Identify and ensure the processing of modifications or customer/supplier complaints.

PROJECT EXECUTION

Lead the projects in all aspects to ensure it is delivered safely and with an optimal quality, CAPEX and schedule. This prime responsibility entails specifically the following:

Drive strategic projects (subcontracting, planning, etc.).

Ensure with the proposal manager a complete and efficient transfer of the project elements.

Develop the Project Management Plan and the Project Execution Plan.

Ensure the implementation and updating of the execution strategy established in the proposal phase and the stages of the project review.

Anticipate critical steps, identify the need for resources and and follows up with respective managers/departments to ensure mobilization of resources in accordance with the project schedule

Contribute to the monitoring of risks and ensure their treatment.

Validate technical and commercial choices important for the project. SMQ KPIs (Progress, Schedule, Hours, Cash, Quantity, Budget)

DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOLUTION

Be a stakeholder in the definition of the techno-commercial solution. (+ the same contributions as those of the Project Manager- see below)

Analyze the capitalization elements of comparable projects carried out.

Participate in the preliminary risk analysis, identification and implementation of the corresponding mitigation actions.

Participate in the consistency check of customer input data, elements of the commercial and technical proposal, the results of the preliminary risk analysis and the price sheet.

Establish / Participate in the establishment of the winning project execution strategy by bringing his/her project vision.

Participate in the validation of the cost price including the estimate of the workload and its planning ('manloading'), in the technical proposal established by the Proposal Department or Product Line and in the definition of the contractual structure of the project.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 17 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex EPC projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of various project management methodologies
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience in the industrial gas or related heavy industry sector is a plus.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a significant advantage.
