Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (branded as Leadership for Equity, LFE) seeks a Project Coordinator in Tirupati to actively engage in teacher development and government liaison for the SALT project, improving classroom practice and policy implementation.
You will collaborate with the Project Associate and Manager, supervise mentor trainings, conduct observations, collect data, and help prepare impact reports for government partners.
Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (branded as Leadership for Equity, LFE) is a non-profit organisation based in Pune, Maharashtra, working to strengthen India’s public education system so that every child learns and thrives. We envision public education systems that refuse to let children down.
LFE partners with state and district governments across multiple states—including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Haryana—to improve teaching practices and build sustained academic support structures within the public system. Our work is anchored in the belief that public education systems are the gatekeepers of social equity, and strengthening them is essential to ensuring that every child has access to strong foundational and future-ready learning.
LFE’s systems-change approach focuses on improving classroom practice and enabling government ownership through three core levers:
Our model empowers teachers as instructional leaders and embeds long-term support through government-run mentor cadres, continuous classroom observation cycles, and in-system academic structures. Technology plays a critical role, including an in-house Classroom Observation App for real-time monitoring and a WhatsApp-based teacher support chatbot for contextual resource delivery.
The approach is iterative and context-responsive, grounded in classroom realities and tailored to state and district needs. Implementation varies across geographies—whether working directly with teachers or through government-appointed mentors—ensuring relevance and feasibility within existing structures. A continuous feedback loop of training, observation, and coaching moves beyond one-time interventions toward sustained practice change. All programs are co-designed and co-implemented with government partners to ensure scale, sustainability, and systemic ownership, ultimately leading to improved student learning outcomes in foundational and future literacy.
LFE & Mantra4Change are coming together to support the Andhra Pradesh Government, which has been on an ambitious plan to revamp the government school system into a high-performing school system for serving children from underserved communities. Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation (SALT) project is a multi-organisational project focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms. The project aims to enhance human capital and achieve a sustained reduction in learning poverty across all districts of the state.
The SALT operation will support the GoAP in three key results areas:
The project will be implemented in close collaboration with the Department of School Education (DoSE), GoAP, and state-level administrative units including the SCERT, SIEMAT, and the local network of DIETs. The focus will be to achieve the outcomes with an inherent focus on strengthening the people and processes within the public education system.
The duration of the project will be 60 months from 2021 to 2026.
The Project Coordinator position offers an excellent learning opportunity to actively engage in on-the-ground work specifically focusing on the teacher development and government liaisoning aspect of the project and overseeing the thorough implementation of the program. Collaborating closely with the Project Associate and the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring efficient execution of the following tasks, among others:
Location: Tirupati, Konaseema; frequent travel to rural areas across the district.
