Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking a Project Controls professional with 3+ years in renewable energy or similar industries to support early-stage planning, schedule development, and cost-loaded project schedules using SAP S/4HANA and MS Excel.

You will work with multiple stakeholders, perform EVM-like risk weighting, monitor budgets, and ensure schedule integrity across master/subproject relationships, applying PERT and CPM methods.

Qualifications

  • Desirable solar project development or construction experience.
  • Proficiency in invoices and purchase orders data accuracy for cost control.
  • Collaborative work with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Data capture and processing proficiency.
  • Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support early-stage project planning requests from diverse stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain time-phased budgets and cost-loaded schedules.
  • Apply PERT and CPM techniques in schedule analysis.
  • Manage Master/Subproject relationships and schedule links.
  • Conduct schedule risk weighting and performance analysis.
  • Communicate findings and discrepancies to line management and stakeholders.
  • Interact across time zones with cross-functional teams.
  • Understand renewables project controls and construction processes.

Key Responsibilities


  • Project Schedule Controls: Supporting early-stage planning requests from various stakeholder groups.

  • Development and maintenance of resource & cost loaded project schedules from standardized templates.

  • Proficient employment of PERT method.

  • Proficient employment of Critical Path Method.

  • Utilization of Master/Subproject relationships.

  • Skilled application of PERT method.

  • Global resource pool management.

  • Risk weighting of project schedule.

  • Adoption of project scheduling best practices.

  • Schedule performance analysis.

  • Forensic schedule analysis.

  • Project Financial Controls: Develop and maintain project time-phased budget forecasts.

  • Project budget and contingency analysis.

  • Project contingency management.

  • Monitor, analyze and validate potential change orders.

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis and development of S-Curves.

  • Manage, implement and refine Project Management tools such as S&U’s and Project Schedules (MS-Project or equivalent) and CAPEX reporting.

  • Expect person in this role to communicate findings, discrepancies, risks, etc to line manager and key stakeholders.

  • Candidate will have the ability to interact with multiple stakeholders and resolve discrepancies on schedule and budget.

  • Needs prior experience in the business as it relates to project cycles and construction process.

Work Experience

KNOWLEDGE


  • It is desirable to have experience in solar project development and/or construction.

  • Detail-oriented individual who proactively identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies related to invoices and purchase orders to maintain data accuracy and ensure smooth project cost control.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across functions to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring timely processing of invoices for payment runs.

  • Efficient at data capture and processing.

  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA system for invoice processing.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.


Personal qualities


  • Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, can-do attitude.

  • Highly process and detail oriented.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.

Relevant Experience Required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.



  • 3+ years of experience in project controls, preferably within the renewable energy sector.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, cost control, and risk management.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively.

  • Experience in implementing and managing project control systems for large-scale renewable energy.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

  • Understanding of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices in renewables sector.
