Programme Overview

Peepul has been partnering with the School Education Department,Govt of Madhya Pradesh, for multiple years now. Working closely withthe state bureaucratic leadership, Peepul has played a meaningful rolein strengthening the education system of the state. The partnershiphas been a successful one – with national and internationalrecognition of the work. One of the flagship programmes of the statewe are co‑leading is the CM Rise Teacher Professional Developmentprogramme.

This international award‑winning programme looks tostrengthen the training, coaching and performance management of the~300,000 teachers across the state.

The Project Associate is a crucial role in fostering a successful partnership withthe Government of Madhya Pradesh and achieving the strategic objective ofPeepul to enhance the quality of education in Indias public school system. The Project Associate will lead and execute initiatives independently, focusing on supporting and holding teachers and academic officials accountable. They willcombine educational expertise, creative problem‑solving, and stakeholdermanagement to design, implement, and monitor high‑quality projects aimed atimproving education in the state.

Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):

To be a quality content developer aligned with organizational philosophy and systemneeds:
  • Createand curate educational content, including training session plans, teaching modules, scripts, schema, lesson plans, and otherrelevant resources for teachers in the government school system.
  • Ensurethat all content is contextualized to the government schoolenvironment and supports classroom implementation.
  • Developcontent that aligns with educational standards, curriculum requirements, andpedagogical best practices
  • Conductthorough subject‑specific research to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignmentwith current educational trends and practices in education.
  • Analyzeteacher and student needs as well as feedback to refine and improve the qualityof content.
Strategizing and planning the key interventions under Teachers’ CapacityBuilding:
  • Designand strategize comprehensive teacher capacity‑building interventions, including in‑person and virtual workshops, training sessions, andprofessional development initiatives, tailored to address identified gaps andenhance classroom effectiveness.
  • Stayupdated on the latest trends, resources, and pedagogical innovations in education and apply innovative approaches to enhance teacher engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Createdocumented reports of project/training implementations, design forms, andprepare decks for related events and training.
  • DevelopStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to institutionalize processes and ensurethe quality of interventions.
  • Codifybest practices and case studies in teaching to ensure knowledgemanagement and sharing within the organisation and with the wider sector.
To be a strong team collaborator and engage with key governmentstakeholders:
  • Workclosely with senior government stakeholders, academic teams, and teachertrainers to design, develop, and implement projects/interventions.
  • Developand maintain strong operational relationships with government partners,providing technical and subject matter leadership.
  • Demonstratean in‑depth understanding of the Indian K-12 curriculum and classroom realities in interactions with stakeholders (e.g., Governmentcounterparts).
To ensure the quality oflarge‑scale implementation with a focus on impact:
  • Deliver agreed‑upon content and training outputs, with ownership for specific tasks, effective use of data, and clearcommunication across the programme.
  • Definesuccess metrics and growth aspirations for interventions andcommunicate these effectively with all stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Ccollaboratewith the in‑house M&E team and external experts to develop appropriateproject evaluation tools including rigorous academicassessments where relevant.
  • Support and ideate onthe large‑scale implementation of projects in close coordinationwith Peepul’s education and training team, in consultation with ProjectManager(s) and Programme Manager(s).
Requirements

At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate aboutdriving educational transformation and making a positive impact. Weare looking for individuals who possess the following qualificationsand meet the role requirements:

  • Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Education with a strong understanding of Classroom Pedagogy and educational perspective is a must. Additional knowledge in Social Work or Public Policy, or other related fields is an advantage.
  • Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates should have 2-4 years of experience in the education sector, including at least 1yr year of classroom teaching experience. The experience should include working in the implementation of educational initiatives in India with an understanding of the challenges of teachers and education system(s).
  • Other Skills: Strong educational expertise and understanding of best practices in pedagogy, curriculum development, and teacher training and ability to plan, execute, and monitor initiatives effectively and independently.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in reading and writing English and Hindi
