Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Program Director to provide executive leadership for an integrated Solar, Wind and BESS programme. You will ensure recommendations align with milestones, governance and stakeholder engagement while guiding multi-package delivery.

The role requires 20+ years of experience in renewable energy project management and strong governance, commercial acumen and strategic planning capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in renewable energy programme management or equivalent.
  • Experience leading governance structures, risk reviews and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple packages, contractors and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish programme governance structures, decision gates, escalation protocols, and reporting cadence across all project packages.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to PMC teams, ensuring alignment with client objectives and programme milestones.
  • Drive executive-level decision-making and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chair executive progress meetings, risk reviews and interface reviews with the Client and package leaders.
  • Represent PMC in engagements with Client, authorities and stakeholders.

Job Description

Position Overview:


The Program Director provides executive leadership and overall PMC accountability for the integrated Solar, Wind and BESS programme. The role ensures that recommendations presented to the Client are coordinated, evidence-based, and aligned with contractual milestones while maintaining effective programme governance and stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Establish programme governance structures, decision gates, escalation protocols, and reporting cadence across all project packages.

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to PMC teams, ensuring alignment with client objectives and programme milestones.

  • Drive executive-level decision-making and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.


Stakeholder Management



  • Chair executive progress meetings, risk reviews, interface reviews, and commissioning readiness assessments with the Client and package leaders.

  • Represent PMC during high-level engagements with the Client, utility authorities, government agencies, and key stakeholders.

  • Facilitate alignment among project stakeholders to ensure successful programme delivery.

  • Direct resolution of cross-package issues affecting COD, energization, HOTO, safety, quality, contractual obligations, and stakeholder approvals.

  • Review and endorse programme recovery plans and corrective action strategies.

  • Lead strategic risk treatment initiatives and provide programme‑level recommendations to mitigate project risks.


Commercial & Contractual Governance



  • Review strategic change recommendations and programme‑level closeout positions.

  • Ensure recommendations comply with contractual requirements, project governance standards, and client expectations.

  • Maintain PMC independence while supporting informed client decision‑making.


Accountability & Performance Assurance



  • Ensure PMC services remain within the agreed RACI framework.

  • Verify that Contractor and OEM execution accountability is maintained and not diluted.

  • Monitor programme performance against key delivery milestones and governance requirements.


Principal Client‑Facing Outputs



  • Monthly Executive Programme Report.

  • Programme Decision Log and Governance Dashboard.

  • Consolidated Risk and Escalation Brief.

  • Recovery Strategy and Recommendation Reports.

  • Programme Readiness Recommendations for:

    • Energization

    • Commercial Operation Date (COD)

    • Hand‑Over / Take‑Over (HOTO)



  • Executive stakeholder presentations and programme status updates.


Qualifications

Minimum Experience: 20+ Years with Bachelor's of Technology.
