Job summary

Veoneer Safety Systems, India, is seeking a Production Quality Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in automotive electronics manufacturing quality. You will monitor and control processes at the Ranjangaon facility near Pune to ensure compliance with product specs and customer requirements.

The role requires analysing key quality metrics, leading 8D/Root Cause analyses, CAPA, and PFMEA/Control Plans, and supporting ECRs for new product launches.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in automotive electronics manufacturing quality.
• Hands-on experience in SMT, PCB assembly, ECU manufacturing, and automotive quality systems.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
• Experience with 8D problem solving, CAPA management, and RCA.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949:2016, VDA 6.3, and automotive quality standards.
• Ability to interpret quality data and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control manufacturing processes to ensure conformance with product specifications and customer requirements.
• Analyze key quality metrics such as Scrap, Defect Rate, FPY, MSA, and Process Capability to drive improvements.
• Identify recurring quality issues, perform trend analysis, and implement CAPA.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
• Support production teams in resolving in-process quality concerns and ensuring sustainable solutions.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support new product launches with a focus on quality readiness.
• Conduct operator training and promote quality awareness across manufacturing operations.
• Manage Quality Alerts and ensure compliance with CSR.

What Will You Do?

Production Quality Management

• Monitor and control manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with product specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.

• Analyze key quality metrics such as Scrap, Defect Rate, First Pass Yield (FPY), MSA, and Process Capability to drive performance improvements.

• Identify recurring quality issues, perform trend analysis, and implement data-driven corrective actions.

• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and other quality documentation.

• Support production teams in resolving in-process quality concerns and ensuring sustainable solutions.

• Coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support new product launches with a focus on quality readiness.

• Conduct operator training and promote quality awareness across manufacturing operations.

• Manage Quality Alerts and ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).

Problem Solving & Process Improvement

• Lead structured problem-solving activities using 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

• Drive implementation and verification of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

• Monitor the effectiveness of countermeasures through audits and follow-up activities.

• Lead Kaizen initiatives focused on defect reduction, waste elimination, and process capability enhancement.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Manage Incoming Quality Control (IQC) activities and support supplier quality improvement initiatives.

• Conduct Process Audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA), FMEA Line Walks, and risk assessments.

• Support internal, customer, and certification audits.

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA standards, and customer-specific quality requirements.

• Drive the deployment of lessons learned across teams and manufacturing processes.

What Will You Bring?

• 5-8 years of experience in Automotive Electronics Manufacturing Quality.

• Hands-on experience in SMT, PCB Assembly, ECU manufacturing, and automotive quality systems.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.

• Experience with 8D problem solving, CAPA management, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Supplier Quality Management, and Process Audits.

• Familiarity with IATF 16949:2016, VDA 6.3, and automotive quality standards.

• Ability to interpret quality data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
