Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Chennai—Kanchipuram plant is seeking a Material Coordinator to ensure timely material flow for production, coordinate with warehouse teams and manage SAP transactions. You will work closely with Assembly Supervisors to align production plans and support material kitting, reporting to Production & ROS Manager, and you will operate on-site in shifts.

This role requires hands-on warehouse skills and a proactive approach to maintaining safe, clean shop floor and continuous

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management applications and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with SAP WMS and related software.
• Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment and obtain certifications if required.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive kitting items on the shop floor based on released production orders.
• Check discrepancies in received materials and report gaps.
• Coordinate with warehouse to prevent shortages and keep line fed.
• Track orders, record receipts, and monitor shortages.
• SAP posting for material receipts and line consumption.
• SAP release and tracking of production orders; share kitting plans with warehouse.
• SAP confirmations for completed orders with material confirmations.
• Monitor Kanban shelves and replenish as needed.
• Align production plans with Assembly Supervisors to support material kitting.
• Operate material handling equipment to move items from warehouse to shop floor.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and orderly shop floor environment.
• Be open to continuous training across shopfloor and warehouse operations.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and maintain good timekeeping.
• Agree to overtime when required.

Job Description

As a Material Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting shop floor material flow activities, ensuring timely availability of materials for production, coordinating with warehouse teams, and maintaining SAP transactions related to production orders and material consumption.

You will work closely with Assembly Supervisors and Leaders to align production plans and support material kitting activities in a manufacturing environment.

You will report to PRODUCTION & ROS MANAGER.

You will work in Onsite work mode based in our Chennai plant in Kanchipuram, India.

Your Responsibilities

• Receive Kitting items at Shop floor based on the released production orders.
• Check for discrepancies on the kitted material received and report on the gaps.
• Follow-up with the warehouse for the shortages and ensure continuous feed to line without any line stoppage.
• Keep record of orders received and track the shortages.
• SAP posting of material received and line consumption posting.
• SAP releasing / tracking of production order and share kitting plan to warehouse team based on production plan.
• SAP confirmation for order completed along with material confirmation.
• Monitor Kanban shelves and fill them in when needed.
• Work closely with Assembly Supervisor to align production plan and support on planning of material Kitting.
• Operate material handling equipment to move products from Warehouse to Shop floor.
• Perform all tasks to ensure a safe work environment.
• Be agreeable to continual training in all areas of Shopfloor, warehouse operations.
• Awareness and implementation of Health & Safety process.
• Good time keeping is essential.
• Keep parts and Shopfloor area orderly and clean.
• Agreement to overtime when requested.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Should be ready to work in Shifts.

The Essentials – You Will Have

• Diploma / Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3+ yrs exp in similar field.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management applications and Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with SAP WMS module and proficiency in using relevant software applications.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, and obtain necessary certifications if required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by operational needs.
• Must be able to bend and lift heavy boxes.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have

• Familiarity with SAP WMS module and proficiency in using relevant software applications.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management applications.
• Experience in shop floor material handling, kitting, and production support activities.
• Experience working with Kanban replenishment processes.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
