Founded and led by alumni from Harvard University, we are committed to transforming education in India by equipping schools with cutting-edge teaching methodologies and holistic learning experiences.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Manager to join our team. You will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end production of our curriculum materials, focusing on quality assurance, vendor relations, process efficiency, and strict adherence to production timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Management:
    • Oversee the entire production lifecycle of curriculum materials, from procurement of raw materials (like paper) to the final bound book sets.
    • Develop, implement, and manage detailed production schedules to ensure all printing and binding jobs meet demanding distribution timelines.
    • Manage capacity planning and resource allocation for production, ensuring output levels can meet seasonal demand (e.g., 5,000 books per day during peak seasons).
  • Quality Control & Standards:
    • Establish and enforce rigorous Quality Control (QC) benchmarks for all printed materials, including impression quality, lamination, and the accurate sequencing and compilation of complete book sets.
    • Work closely with vendors to ensure all materials adhere to specifications, such as minimum paper quality (e.g., 70 GSM for B/W, 275 GSM or above for covers) and approved binding samples.
    • Conduct final quality checks on all printed and bound materials to meet the organization's high standards.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management:
    • Manage relationships with printing and supply chain vendors, negotiating contracts, terms, and cost-effective solutions for production and materials.
    • Facilitate communication and coordination with vendors regarding scope of work, material specifications, and quality expectations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and lead the production team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Analyze current printing and production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
    • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational effectiveness and minimize production errors.
    • Utilize data and metrics to monitor production performance and optimize output.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Production Management, Printing Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in print production, publishing, or manufacturing operations, preferably in the education industry.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, materials (paper types, binding), and quality assurance (QC) protocols.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to printing facilities to oversee production and resolve issues.
