Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in Chennai is seeking a Production Supervisor for shipyard operations. You will oversee material flow, production activities, and safety compliance, while coordinating with inter-departments and subcontractors to maintain schedules.

Key duties include QA/QC inspections for hot works, documentation of revisions and reworks, plus preparation of QMS and commissioning documents. Experience in shipyard environments and strong coordination skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Material flow (raising MR & follow-up, tracking & co-ordination, shortfall before fabrication).
• Production supervision, quality and control, daily consumable requirements, safety, maintenance, machinery.
• Inspections – QA & QC correspondences for hot works such as cable trays, supports and other foundations, cable installation, termination and testing.
• Revision, Rejection, Rework to be documented and informed to the concern department to identify source of problem.
• Prepare QMS related documents.
• Prepare commissioning related documents.
• Commissioning support.
• Lessons learned and improvement
• Compliance of safety and quality norms of Ship yard.
• Managing subcontractor’s manpower and adherence of job schedule.
• Ensuring the smooth work flow, co-ordinating with inter-departments.
