Job summary

Ultra Drugs in India seeks a Production Chemist with hands-on experience in Herbal, Ayurvedic, Naturopathy, Nutraceutical, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role focuses on executing and supervising day-to-day production activities while ensuring GMP, SOPs, quality, safety, and production standards.

You will supervise manufacturing of formulations, maintain Batch Manufacturing Records, monitor processes, and coordinate with QA/QC and other departments to meet targets and keep compliance.

Qualifications

• B.Sc./M.Sc. Chemistry, or B.Pharm/M.Pharm, or Ayurveda degrees as listed.
• 15 years of experience in Herbal / Ayurvedic / Naturopathy / Nutraceutical / Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Hands-on knowledge of production processes and manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise daily production activities per SOPs and schedules.
• Oversee manufacture of herbal/Ayurvedic products (syrups, tablets, capsules, etc.).
• Ensure GMP, hygiene, safety and proper batch documentation.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for sampling, line clearance and quality checks.
• Maintain batch records and production logs.
• Guide production operators to meet targets and timelines.
• Support audits and corrective actions as required.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Production Chemist with hands-on experience in Herbal, Ayurvedic, Naturopathy, Nutraceutical, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for executing and supervising day-to-day production activities while ensuring compliance with GMP, SOPs, quality, safety, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise daily production activities as per approved SOPs, BMR/BPR and production schedules.
• Handle manufacturing of herbal/Ayurvedic products such as syrups, liquids, powders, tablets, capsules, oils, churna and other formulations, as applicable.
• Ensure correct dispensing, weighing, mixing, blending, granulation, filling and other manufacturing processes.
• Monitor critical process parameters and ensure batches are manufactured as per approved formulations.
• Maintain proper Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), production logs and other manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, safety and SOP requirements on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for sampling, in-process checks, line clearance and quality-related activities.
• Monitor raw material and packaging material usage and minimize process loss/wastage.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation and housekeeping of production areas and equipment.
• Identify production deviations, process issues and equipment-related problems and coordinate for timely resolution.
• Supervise and guide production operators/helpers to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Maintain production targets, batch timelines and productivity standards.
• Coordinate with Stores, QA, QC, Maintenance, Packaging and Planning departments for uninterrupted production.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and process-related issues.
• Support audits, inspections and implementation of corrective/preventive actions where required.
• Ensure all production activities are carried out safely and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. Chemistry
• B.Pharm / M.Pharm
• BAMS / B.Pharm Ayurveda / M.Pharm Ayurveda
• Other relevant qualifications may be considered based on industry experience.

Required Experience & Skills

• 15 years of experience in Herbal / Ayurvedic / Naturopathy / Nutraceutical / Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Hands-on knowledge of production processes and manufacturing equipment.
• Good understanding of GMP, SOP, BMR/BPR and production documentation.
• Experience in handling herbal/Ayurvedic formulations will be preferred.
• Good coordination with QA/QC and other departments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage production activities and manpower effectively.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
