Job summary

Signify in Bengaluru is seeking a Product Test Engineer to support DALI interoperability and certification testing. This hands-on, execution-focused role requires ownership and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and deliver quality outcomes.

You will develop test plans, execute tests, analyze defects, and advance automation using Python, contributing to improved test coverage and product quality in alignment with DALI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
• 4–6 years of experience in software/system testing.
• Strong experience in test execution, defect analysis, and debugging.
• Experience with test automation (C#, Python / scripting / test frameworks).
• Familiarity with JIRA and test management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans and procedures for DALI interoperability and certification testing.
• Identify, analyze, and document defects with root-cause understanding.
• Perform testing using required tools, test setups, and specialized environments for protocol validation.
• Ensure product compliance with DALI standards and internal quality requirements.
• Prepare detailed test reports and provide actionable insights to improve product quality.
• Ensure thorough validation by covering negative, boundary, and integration scenarios.
• Contribute to improving test coverage and overall test effectiveness through continuous feedback and analysis.
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts (Python / existing frameworks) for identified scenarios.
• Identify manual test cases suitable for automation and progressively increase automation coverage.
• Support enhancement of existing automation frameworks and test tools to improve efficiency and regression stability.
• Follow defined testing processes and ensure high‑quality, timely execution with strong ownership.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through feedback, analysis, and proactive identification of gaps.

• Ensure product compliance with DALI standards and internal quality requirements
• Prepare detailed test reports and provide actionable insights to improve product quality
• Ensure thorough validation by covering negative, boundary, and integration scenarios
• Contribute to improving test coverage and overall test effectiveness through continuous feedback and analysis

Critical Experiences

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, essential for understanding hardware design and testing principles
• 4–6 years of experience in software/system testing
• Strong experience in test execution, defect analysis, and debugging
• Good understanding of test design techniques (negative, edge cases, integration testing)
• Hands‑on experience or working knowledge of test automation (C#, Python / scripting / test frameworks)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong ownership
• Familiarity with JIRA, test management tools

Good To Have

• Certification in any hardware testing methodologies or quality standards to ensure compliance with industry standards and effective use of specialized testing equipment.
• Experience in DALI / lighting domain / embedded or protocol‑based testing
