Job summary

Groww is seeking a production support engineer to ensure smooth operation of its multi-product platform in Bengaluru. The role involves diagnosing bugs, monitoring production, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues across data centers and applications.

The ideal candidate has MySQL experience, scripting skills (Python, Shell), and familiarity with Linux/cron. Strong communication and a customer-focused mindset are essential for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Experience in production support and on-call rotations.
• Exposure to MySQL and writing SQL queries.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix commands and cron scheduling.
• Ability to script and automate tasks using Python or Shell.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of internal application behavior and data centers.
• Diagnose and fix low-complexity bugs and address urgent issues.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve more complex problems.
• Monitor production environments and respond to SLAs.
• Automate manual tasks and adapt installers and scripts as needed.
• Provide user feedback to the team and track resolutions in on-call systems.
• Maintain records of problem analysis and resolution activities.

What you'll do

• Develop a deep understanding of internal application behavior and tech operations across data centers and applications
• Analyze problems, diagnose and fix bugs of low complexity when appropriate.
• Work with developers to identify and resolve more complicated problems
• Address urgent issues quickly, work within and measure against customer SLAs
• Adapt installer, shell scripts and perl scripts and aggressively automate manual tasks through scripting.
• Provide feedback from customer/ users to the team. Finding recurring issues, problem solve and get it fixed.
• Maintain on-going record of problem analysis and resolution activity in an oncall tracking system.
• Proactively monitors production and non-production environments and applications
• Develop smaller complexity features and utilities in existing system components to enhance productivity.

What are we looking for :

• Good exposure to MySQL and writing SQL queries
• Automation scripting: More advanced tools preferred; Ex: Python, Shell.
• A prior experience in production support.
• Understanding of linux/unix basic commands and job scheduling (cron)
• Good to have prior programming experience; Java preferred
• Good written and oral communication skills
