Job summary

First Object invites an experienced Product Owner to join the Agent Development Squad in a fast-moving AI platform environment. Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the squad backlog - write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements.

• Represent end users (accountants, controllers, financial close teams) in sprint and design discussions.
• Participate actively in sprint ceremonies - planning, refinement, review, retrospective - as a full squad member.
• Define and track KPIs for agent performance and feed insights back to backlog.
• Coordinate with Product Manager and other squad POs on cross-agent dependencies and shared platform features.
• Engage with stakeholders and customers to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and close feedback loops.

Summary:

We are looking for a Product Owner to join a dedicated Agent Development Squad within Trintech's AI Platform team. Each squad owns end-to-end delivery of one or more AI agents that power the Autonomous Financial Close. The PO is embedded in the squad, owns the backlog, and is the bridge between business requirements and engineering delivery. This is a hands-on role - not a strategic PM role. The right person thrives in a fast-moving, AI-native engineering environment and can translate complex financial workflows into clear, buildable user stories.

What You’ll Do

• Own and prioritize the squad backlog - write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements that engineers can build from without ambiguity.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager and Tech Lead to sequence delivery across agent features, platform integrations, and technical debt.
• Represent the voice of the end user - accountants, controllers, and financial close teams - in every sprint and design discussion.
• Participate actively in sprint ceremonies - planning, refinement, review, and retrospective - as a full squad member.
• Define and track KPIs for agent performance - resolution rates, accuracy scores, exception handling - and feed insights back into the backlog.
• Coordinate with the Product Manager and other squad POs on cross-agent dependencies and shared platform features.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and customers to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and close feedback loops.x

Who You Are

Product Ownership

• 6+ years of product ownership or product management experience in an enterprise SaaS environment.
• Strong backlog management - writes requirements that are specific, testable, and free of ambiguity.
• Experience working directly embedded in an agile engineering squad - not a handoff-based PM model.
• Comfortable with technical conversations - can engage on API design, data models, and architecture trade-offs without needing full translation from engineers.
• Proven ability to prioritize ruthlessly, say no with clear rationale, and manage stakeholder expectations.

AI-Native Mindset

• Understands how LLM-based agents work - prompt design, RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, confidence scoring - well enough to write informed requirements and challenge trade-offs.
• Can participate in squad discussions on AI agent behavior, failure modes, and human-in-the-loop workflows without requiring concepts to be explained from scratch.
• Keeps up with developments in the AI-native product space - agent frameworks, LLM tooling, enterprise AI platforms.

Domain & Delivery

• Familiarity with financial operations, accounting workflows, or enterprise ERP systems is a plus - but strong enterprise SaaS product experience is the primary requirement.
• Experience defining and tracking agent or automation KPIs - resolution rates, accuracy, exception volumes - is a strong differentiator.

Nice to Have

• Experience with financial close, R2R, or reconciliation workflows.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements in a product context.
• Experience working on a marketplace or partner-facing platform product.
