Product Manager (India) - Job Description

By Tilak Kasturi

Product Manager

India-based — Pune preferred. Hybrid-friendly.

Address: Predii India Pvt Ltd, C/o Urban Works, Floor no 16 Nandan Probiz, Laxman Nagar Baner, Pune 411045

About Predii

Predii builds the intelligence layer that runs the automotive service and parts industry. Our platform, Predii 360, turns messy repair-order, DMS, and parts data into real-time intelligence — powering parts lookup, diagnostics, and repair search for dealership and aftermarket customers at scale, processing billions of repair orders and serving live search at sub-second latency.

We're small, fast, and allergic to red tape. No 12-layer approval chains, no work that disappears into a backlog forever. If you build something here, it ships — and real customers use it. Learn more at www.predii.com .

We do real research, not just integration. We continue to submit state-of-the-art research on topics including: engineering-diagram and technical-document understanding, domain-calibrated evaluation frameworks for technical content, multi-agent architectures that optimize for correctness and honesty, detecting "confident-but-wrong" failures that standard monitoring misses, moving from reactive detection to causal, explainable prognosis, and multilingual evaluation of technical and repair content. We've found that multi-agent systems that just concatenate outputs get less trustworthy as they get more capable, so we design ours to contest and qualify each other's findings instead. And we run open-weight models in production at enterprise scale, because repair-grade accuracy shouldn't cost frontier-model money. All of it is deliberately vertical: deep automotive domain expertise applied to automotive problems, not a general‑purpose model with an automotive skin.

The Role

We're looking for a Product Manager to own priorities and drive delivery across Predii's product line — not a single product, but the portfolios: the core Predii 360 platform, the AI infrastructure underneath it, and the newer agentic products for shops we're building on top of it. You'll work directly with engineering to turn strategy into a roadmap, and a roadmap into shipped, working software that real customers use.

This is a hands‑on, builder's role. You'll spend real time with the data, the models, and the people using what we build — not just writing specs and watching a backlog. You'll need to think from first principles: question default assumptions about how a feature should work, and build from what customers and the data actually need, not from how it's always been done.

You'll work closely with engineering, research, and — depending on the product — customers and design partners, and you'll be trusted to make prioritization calls, not just relay someone else's.

What You'll Do

Own the roadmap — prioritize ruthlessly across multiple products and workstreams, and be able to explain the trade‑offs behind every call

Drive delivery with engineering — work day‑to‑day with engineering pods to turn priorities into shipped features, not just tickets in a backlog

Write the specs that matter — clear requirements and acceptance criteria that let engineering move fast without guessing

Get close to the data and the users — understand how customers actually use the product, and let that shape what gets built next, not just what's loudest in a meeting

Coordinate across products — spot where infrastructure, evaluation, or research work on one product should carry over to another, instead of everything being rebuilt in isolation

Track quality, not just velocity — partner with evaluation/QA to make sure what ships is actually correct, not just on time

Communicate up and out — keep stakeholders (engineering, leadership, and where relevant customers) aligned on what's shipping, what's slipping, and why

What We're Looking For

3+ years as a Product Manager (or equivalent role) shipping software with an engineering team, ideally on a data or AI-heavy product

Comfortable owning a roadmap across more than one product or workstream at a time — you can prioritize without a single source of truth handed to you

Strong working relationship with engineering — you can write a spec engineers trust, and you know enough to ask the right technical questions

A first‑principles mindset — you default to "what does the customer/data actually need" over "how has this always been done"

Comfortable with ambiguity — you build structure and process where none exists, rather than waiting for it

Strong communication skills — you can translate between technical and business stakeholders without losing precision on either side

A self‑starter mindset — comfortable working independently across a distributed US–India team

Bonus Points

Experience with AI/ML or LLM‑powered products specifically — you understand what makes eval, accuracy, and latency product decisions, not just engineering ones

Background in automotive, industrial, or other data‑heavy vertical platforms

Startup or small‑team energy — you've worn more than one hat and are comfortable being the most senior product person in the room

Experience working with distributed, cross‑timezone engineering teams

How We Work

Own it — flag issues early, make the call, follow through.

Be proactive — don't wait to be told; spot the risk, bring the fix.

Share the load — quality and reliability are everyone's job, not just yours.

Make it count — your work ships to production and touches real customers, real fast.
