Job summary

Loom Solar in Faridabad, India seeks a Senior BESS Product Manager to lead the end-to-end development of battery energy storage solutions. You will craft a robust 3-year roadmap covering residential and commercial scales, integrating BMS, PCS and EMS with inverter and solar systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop a 3-year BESS product roadmap for residential, hybrid inverter-battery combos, C&I, AC/DC architectures and scalable systems.
• Identify market opportunities across rooftop solar, backup, microgrids, and renewable energy projects.
• Own the complete BESS product-development lifecycle from customer requirements to PRD, technical specs, testing, pilot and launch.
• Prepare detailed specifications covering chemistry, cell format, capacity, voltage, energy, C-rate, DoD, efficiency, cycle life, temperature, IP rating, and communication protocols.
• Understand LFP/LiFePO4 technology, cell-to-pack hierarchy, BMS, SOC/SOH, thermal management and safety features; prefer LFP-based storage experience.
• Collaborate with engineering and inverter teams to define power ratings, grid synchronization, and multi-rack operation; align with BMS, PCS, EMS for seamless integration.
• Source, qualify, and manage OEMs for lithium cells, packs, BMS, PCS, EMS/software, HVAC and enclosures; create scorecards and quarterly reviews.
• Manage product economics: BOM, installation, logistics, warranty and service costs; track all components and lifecycle costs.

• Develop a 3-year BESS product roadmap covering residential, hybrid inverter-battery combos, C&I, AC-coupled, DC-coupled, modular, cabinet, containerized, and >1MWh systems
• Identify market opportunities across rooftop solar, residential backup, C&I peak shaving, load shifting, demand management, solar self-consumption, diesel generator replacement, microgrids, telecom, EV charging, open-access projects, solar EPC, captive power, and renewable energy projects
• Own the complete BESS product-development lifecycle from customer requirement to PRD, technical specification, cell selection, pack design, BMS, PCS, EMS, prototype, testing, certification, pilot, and commercial launch
• Prepare detailed product specifications covering battery chemistry, cell format, capacity, voltage, energy, C-rate, DoD, efficiency, cycle life, temperature range, IP rating, communication protocols, BMS architecture, PCS rating, EMS functionality, thermal management, fire protection, safety systems, remote monitoring, and warranty
• Understand LFP/LiFePO₄ technology, lithium-ion battery architecture, cell-to-module-to-pack-to-rack-to-system hierarchy, BMS, SOC/SOH, cell balancing, thermal runaway, degradation, protection, contactor, fuses, and communication architecture; LFP-based stationary storage experience preferred
• Work with engineering and inverter teams to integrate battery, BMS, PCS, hybrid inverter, solar, grid, load, and EMS; define AC/DC architecture, power ratings, charging/discharging power, grid synchronization, grid-forming/following, black-start, backup, parallel and multi-rack operation, and communication protocols
• Identify, qualify, and manage OEM/suppliers for lithium cells, battery-pack OEMs, BMS, PCS, EMS/software, HVAC, fire suppression, and BESS enclosures; evaluate on technology, quality, cost, reliability, warranty, certification, capacity, lead time, service, and financial stability; develop scorecards and conduct quarterly reviews
