JOB SUMMARY :- Product Engineering

The Product Engineer will be knowledgeable of the basic processes and facilitate other engineers at the site. This individual is also responsible for the implementation, support, training, and troubleshooting for the process being assigned in their facility. This position is assigned to an individual who has good hands‑on experience with the product and process, and already be considered to be a key person of the process. Perform as a technical leader across disciplines and or technologies and assist management in meeting our strategic initiatives. They will drive the proficiency within the team, assure best practices are followed and support the delivery of quality solutions. Under supervision of higher‑level peers, manages the verification of lower‑complexity products and projects, and assists in high‑complexity projects. Participates in the verification of various new products by qualifying new products and related design collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers to conceptualize, design, and develop new products or enhance existing ones. Your focus will be on ensuring that the product meets customer needs, market demands, and quality standards. Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability, scalability, and cost‑effectiveness. Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate on design modifications to streamline production and reduce manufacturing costs. The Product Engineer is responsible for ensuring excellence on the assigned manufacturing process, as determined by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This individual will provide expert advice when there is urgent need due to high defect rates and ensure that the process is well in control and delivering the highest possible yields. This position is assigned to an individual who has the profile to understand the scope of all the manufacturing chain process and the implications of each change and be considered to be a leader within the engineering team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to work in a technical lead role independently.
  • Review and evaluate new technologies that may be beneficial to current and upcoming project work.
  • Participate in design and implementation of specific Technology Services projects.
  • Work with Customers to determine requirements and translate those requirements to actionable tasks.
  • Align Product Engineering solutions within the overall Technology Services strategy.
  • Ability to design solutions on an Enterprise level with medium level of guidance.
  • Analyze and root cause issues related to projects.
  • Assures best practices are defined and followed.
  • Acts as an escalation for technical issues and support.
  • Take help of Regional/Global wherever its required.
  • Identifies and communicates risks to the business.
  • Performs as a mentor to regional and site resources on process and techniques to assure proficiency within the team.
  • Performs research and analysis on new technology and business practices with the team.
  • Performs and or supports other duties and responsibilities of team members as required.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities of team members as assigned.
  • Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement.
  • Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best in class.”
  • Provide input on creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems.
  • Coordinate line reconfigurations and machine move activities, including equipment arrival, positioning and installation, and scheduling of support groups (Machine Support, Facilities, MIS, etc.) using the approved communication process.
  • Encourage open communication and exchange of information within the Engineering department and between the various support groups.
  • Provide support for all quoting activities by participation in initial process design, development, and implementation phases.
  • Serve as liaison between Jabil Circuit and suppliers or customers on quality related issues.
  • Prepare recommendations for testing and documentation of procedures to be used from the product design phase through to initial production.
  • Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
  • Serve as the functional and core Workcell expert for product and its life cycle Track and communicate all changes/enhancements to existing process, including upgrades to product and process.
  • Support Site when there is audits and customer visits.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of Jabil operating policies and procedures required.

Knowledge and experience of supply chain and engineering in manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated Hands‑on experience in the required process.

Knowledge in Basic Statistics and knowledge of carrying a DOE is a plus.

Understanding of DFM/A, FMEA and IPC requirements.

Able to write technical reports for the Site.

Proven proficiency across multiple disciplines and or technologies.

Fluent in business processes and best practices.

Advanced electronics skills related to computer hardware.

Advanced design and architecture experience.

In‑circuit and functional test experience.

Experience architecting test fixtures.

Experience managing NPI processes.

BOM management experience, preferred.

Experience in automated manufacturing environments, preferred.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Advanced Diploma, Bachelor or Master in appropriate fields.

8 to 10 years work‑related experience in the EMS or equivalent industry.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
