Job Summary

As product engineers we are actively engaged in the Service & NPI continuity processes for the Broadband Plasma systems covering multiple aspects of product development, service readiness, field support & reliability improvements. Serves as the central technical resource / interface with design engineering, manufacturing, technical support, installation, quality, marketing and field as the product(s) move through the Product Life Cycle. Works to optimize serviceability, reduce cost-of-service through all stages of the PLC, and improve short and long term product service revenue performance. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product s lifecycle to ensure system level product performance is continuously tracked and meets established specification. Drives continuous improvement of system hardware, diagnostics and software, tooling, technical documentation, knowledge management, and training. Must be effective in matrixed work environment. Job Scope & Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of overall system operation, system integration, and system calibrations.
• Support internal and external customers in the operation, installation, upgrade, diagnosis, repair and application of systems.
• Act as a two way conduit of information between design teams, and tech support and service personnel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Very adept at 7-step trouble-shooting, including driving learning and standardization where appropriate.
• Able to step into a difficult beta and sustaining escalation, analyze data from various sources, and, working with divisional experts when necessary, provide a detailed action plan suitable for execution by Customer Service Engineer (CSE) and Technical Support Engineer (TSE).
• Respond to situations where first-line support has failed to resolve problems by providing written plans of action by e-mail or hands-on assistance at customer sites in the US, Asia, and Europe.
• Analyze product performance for key contributors to poor performance and work with engineering teams to understand root cause and develop improvement plans.
• Write technical reports to communicate issues, analysis, technical assessments, system status, and engineering recommendations.
Implement and track progress of the NPI/Sustaining work. This will include Diagnostic improvements, software feature requirements development, training plans and documentation planning and contribution.
• Work closely with Engineering, attending concept and design reviews to provide feedback on serviceability of new designs and potential improvements.
• Participate in NPI Best Practice teams to spread knowledge across product divisions.
• Hands-on work for integration of Alpha/Beta systems, including performing serviceability validation.
• Drive small projects in matrix environment
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
• 25% travel domestic & foreign.

Preferred Qualifications

• Clean room experience, is preferred.
• Hands-on experience on semi-conductor equipment
• Strong Knowledge and hand on experience with Networking, Servers, Unix Operating System.
