Job summary

Jar invites a senior design leader to own the end-to-end design lifecycle for fintech products in India. You will drive concepts to launch, informed by user behavior and data, ensuring high-quality UI and cohesive flows across use cases.

You will collaborate with product, data, and engineering to deliver practical, impactful designs that align with business goals and brand identity, crafting effective experiences for a diverse user base.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience owning end-to-end product features for web or native platforms.
• Strong knowledge of UI design fundamentals, patterns, components, and interactions.
• Proficiency in Figma and design systems; experience with motion design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design lifecycle from concept to launch and iteration.
• Lead with data-backed insights to craft intuitive solutions and new user behaviors.
• Translate complex needs into high-fidelity UI and clear user flows for diverse use cases.

Built within the Jar ecosystem, Nek is making fine jewellery more accessible through 925 silver, lab‑grown diamonds, and gold coins. This isn’t just about creating beautiful visuals; it’s about simplifying purchase decisions and building meaningful, occasion‑led experiences for millions of users.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Own the End-to-End Lifecycle: You'll own the end-to-end design lifecycle, driving our product from concept to launch and iteration. Maintain full accountability for your work, ensuring every detail is meticulously refined and delivered to the highest standards.
• Lead with Behavioral Insights: Proactively identify challenges and devise data‑backed, intuitive solutions. Instead of replicating competitor designs, you will leverage user behavior data, UX design laws, and active user testing to pioneer entirely new user behaviors that naturally influence users to make the right purchase choices.
• Advance the Experience: Translate complex needs into clear, high‑fidelity UI and meticulous user flows for diverse use cases.
• Evolve the Ecosystem: Create a unified UI, integrating with and evolving our design system to ensure strong brand identity and a delightful app experience.
• Cross‑Functional Influence: Partner closely with product, data analysts, engineering, and business teams to deliver practical, impactful designs that enhance UX and achieve key metrics.
• Innovate & Optimize: Continuously find creative, optimal solutions to tasks, enhancing user experience while aligning with business goals.

What's required from you?

• Proven Track Record: 3+ years of Experience in proposing and building an end‑to‑end product feature or an experience which went live on a web or native platform. You must have successfully navigated and executed this level of product ownership multiple times in your previous professional adventures.
• Visual & UI Excellence: A clear sense and taste for UI design with strong knowledge of Material Design and Human Interface Guidelines. You must possess a strong understanding of design fundamentals, including UI design patterns, components, and interactions, with essential Figma proficiency.
• Motion Design Skills (Good to have): Familiarity with motion design tools like Protopie, Rive, Jitter, or After Effects, and an eye for trending designs. Motion design is a critical requirement for this role to elevate the product experience.
• Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to apply intuitive design to user problems, taking a structured approach to gauge outcomes and continuously seeking to enhance the experience.
• User Empathy & Innovation: Deep empathy for users and for Jar's mission, alongside a consistent ability to bring questions back to what will best serve our users. Bring a zeal for out‑of‑the‑box ideas specific to Jar that enhance the user experience, potentially leading to industry‑first solutions.
• Adaptability & Leadership: Ability to thrive in a lean sprint environment, demonstrating strong ownership and collaboration while navigating ambiguity and bringing clarity. You must be self‑driven, show an ability to take lead and solve things, and continuously work towards self‑education and cross‑functional networking.
• Cultural & Occasion Fluency: Design for how India buys jewellery - festival and gifting‑led, built around occasions like Diwali and weddings. You'll shape experiences for a largely tier 2–4, vernacular‑first audience, designing for the emotion behind these purchases and - because gold and silver are trust buys, building credibility into every step.
