Job summary

Stack Wealth is seeking a UI Designer to own and evolve the design system, bringing interfaces to life through thoughtful motion and interaction design. You’ll build the infrastructure that enables product teams to move fast while maintaining consistency in our fintech platform.

You’ll work on design tokens, components, and documentation, collaborating with engineers and product managers to ship trusted, data-rich experiences and AI-native features.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Stack Wealth design system (components, tokens, documentation).
• Build and maintain Figma component libraries with proper variant structures.
• Define design token architecture for theming and multi‑platform consistency.
• Establish naming conventions, file organization, and contribution guidelines.
• Create comprehensive documentation to enable designers and developers to use the system correctly.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure design system adoption and identify gaps.
• Design micro-interactions and define motion principles for the design system.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure animations are implemented correctly and performantly.
• Partner with designers, engineers, and product managers to define product direction.
• Execute visual design stages from concept to hand-off and defend key deliverables.

About the Role

We're looking for a UI Designer to own and evolve our design system while bringing interfaces to life through thoughtful motion and interaction design. You'll build the foundational infrastructure that enables our product teams to move fast while maintaining consistency. This role sits at the intersection of systems thinking and craft—solving some of the hardest design challenges in fintech: How do you make AI feel trustworthy? How do you present complex financial data intuitively? How do you create delightful moments around wealth management?

What You'll Bring

Design System & Technical Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in Figma (Libraries, Components, Variants, Auto Layout, Variables)
• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems at scale
• Strong understanding of design token methodology (primitive vs semantic tokens, naming conventions)
• Experience with design-to-code workflows and engineering collaboration
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles

Motion & Interaction Design

• Demonstrable expertise in designing micro-interactions for data-heavy interfaces
• Proficiency in prototyping tools (Figma, Principle, After Effects, or similar)
• Ability to specify animation parameters in developer-friendly formats
• Strong sense of timing and rhythm—knowing when motion adds value vs creates friction
• Understanding of performance implications across web and mobile platforms

Core Product Design Skills

• 3+ years of design experience in B2C product companies, preferably fintech
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to building trust through design
• Process-driven approach to wireframes, user flows, and interaction specifications
• Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Bonus: Experience designing AI-native products or conversational interfaces

What the Work Looks Like

Design System Ownership

• Own and evolve the Stack Wealth design system (components, tokens, patterns, documentation)
• Build and maintain Figma component libraries with proper variant structures and variable bindings
• Define design token architecture supporting theming and multi-platform consistency
• Establish naming conventions, file organization standards, and contribution guidelines
• Create comprehensive documentation enabling designers and developers to use the system correctly
• Conduct regular audits to ensure design system adoption and identify gaps

Interaction & Motion Design

• Design micro-interactions that enhance user experience and create memorable moments
• Define motion principles, timing standards, and animation guidelines for the design system
• Create interactive prototypes to communicate motion specifications to engineering
• Collaborate with developers to ensure animations are implemented correctly and performantly
• Balance delight with usability—ensure motion serves the user's goals, not just aesthetics

Collaboration & Process

• Partner with designers, engineers, and product managers to define product direction
• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off
• Share ideas early, embrace feedback, and iterate rapidly
• Present designs and defend key deliverables to peers and stakeholders
• Contribute to both qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions
