Job summary

Koch, India, is seeking a Product Design Engineer to own the design and development of high‑speed cable connector products throughout their lifecycle, integrating mechanical, electrical, and signal integrity practices to deliver manufacturable solutions.

You will lead product qualification, collaborate with global teams, and apply DFM/DFMA, DFMEA and tolerance analysis to ensure robust designs from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7 years in electromechanical product design and development.
• Proficient in 3D modeling, drafting, wire routing, and product design using Siemens NX.
• Strong experience in DFM, DFMA, tolerance stack-up analysis, component validation, and qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of high-speed cable and connector products from concept through production.
• Create and release high-quality 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Drive new product development, product enhancements, and customer-specific solutions.
• Apply DFM, DFMA, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and engineering best practices to ensure manufacturable and reliable designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, signal integrity, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and marketing teams to deliver optimized product solutions.
• Develop and execute product validation plans, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental qualification testing.

As a Product Design Engineer, you will own the design and development of high-speed cable connector products throughout their lifecycle. You will combine mechanical design, manufacturing, electrical, and signal integrity considerations to deliver innovative, reliable, and manufacturable solutions. You will also lead product qualification activities, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental validation, while collaborating with global cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design and development of high-speed cable and connector products from concept through production.
• Create and release high-quality 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Drive new product development, product enhancements, and customer-specific solutions.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in electromechanical product design and development.
• Proficient in 3D modeling, drafting, wire routing, and product design using Siemens NX.
• Strong experience in DFM, DFMA, tolerance stack-up analysis, component validation, and qualification.
• Good understanding of plastic injection molded, machined, and sheet metal component design.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development lifecycle.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience working on high-speed data center interconnect, cable assembly, or connector products.
• Proven success in bringing complex electromechanical products from concept through production in a global engineering environment.
