Job summary

Molex is seeking a dynamic Senior CAD Engineer - Design to join our Industrial Solutions Engineering team in Bengaluru. You will drive CAD design, drafting, and documentation for high-performance connectors, harnesses, and industrial networking products, ensuring manufacturability and design for cost.

You will work with global cross-functional teams, apply GD&T and tolerance analysis, manage engineering changes, and support PLM systems such as Teamcenter and Polarion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or ECRs within connectors, wiring harnesses, automotive, or industrial products.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and stack-up analysis.
• Experience working within cross-functional and global engineering teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Create and release high-quality 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and product documentation per Molex standards.

You will be part of the Industrial Solutions Engineering Team, responsible for designing and developing connectors for high-power industrial applications. Our team works closely with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, product management, and customer-facing teams to bring innovative products to market while continuously improving existing solutions. What You Will Do

• Lead CAD design and drafting efforts for new product development and sustaining engineering projects involving connectors, cable assemblies, and industrial networking products.
• Create and release high-quality 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and product documentation in compliance with Molex engineering standards.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to resolve product, manufacturing, and customer-related challenges through effective technical problem-solving.
• Apply advanced GD&T principles and tolerance analysis to ensure robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective product designs.
• Support product lifecycle activities by driving continuous improvement initiatives and sustaining released products.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability expectations.
• Support validation, measurement analysis, and product disposition activities to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or engineering change management within connectors, wiring harnesses, automotive, or industrial products.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and basic tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience working within cross-functional and global engineering teams.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience designing components involving plastics, sheet metal, castings, and plated parts.
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter and/or Polarion PLM systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project, and Visio.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and product sustaining activities.
