Product Certification Engineer – Power tools

Job summary

Bosch India in Chennai seeks a seasoned engineer to manage power tools product certification, coordinating with test houses, and to create and track certification plans for both new and existing products. You’ll ensure timely approvals and maintain documentation.

The role requires staying ahead of Indian regulations, integrating changes into the requirements landscape, communicating with the central certification function, and supporting local and global teams with interpretation of directives

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in an engineering related department.
• Familiar with country regulations, requirement engineering, standards, testing and certifications for electrical tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage power tools product certification for new and existing products, coordinating with test houses, and tracking certification plans.
• Integrate new or changed regulations of India into the Power Tools requirements landscape and ensure market access.
• Investigate and clarify country-specific requirements on Power Tools products.
• Communicate country-specific requirements to central certification function and keep updated on changes or modifications.
• Support local and global business teams with information and interpretation of approval requirements, directives, and standards.
• Obtain approvals (e.g., BIS) for new products and ensure all approval documents and declarations are available for products sold in India.
• Manage communications with authorities, local test houses and customs.
• Responsible for internal projects and support plant project management.
• Support plant for daily maintenance of assigned product category.
• Conduct failure analysis and problem solving for products in development and series production.

• Transition of Regulation : Integrate new or changed regulations of India including the associated market access requirements into the Power Tools requirements landscape to make them available for stakeholders
• Investigates and clarifies country specific requirements on Power Tools products.
• Communicates country specific requirements to power tool central certification function with up to date about changes or modifications of requirements.
• Supports local & global business teams with information and interpretation of approval requirements, directives, and standards.
• Obtains Approvals [ex: BIS] for new products. Ensures that all approval documents, registrations, self-declarations, etc. are available for the product(s) sold in India.
• Manages and/or communication with authorities, local Test Houses and customs
• Responsible for internal projects and support plant project management
• Support plant for daily maintenance of assigned product category.
• Conduct failure analysis and problem solving for products in development and series production

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience, of which at least 3 years’ experience in engineering related department.

Familiar with country regulations, requirement engineering, Standards, Testing and Certifications for electrical tools is preferred
