Product Architect ALM Polarion

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Architect with deep expertise in Siemens Polarion ALM to lead the design, architecture, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining scalable Polarion architectures, ensuring end-to-end lifecycle traceability, driving process standardization, and enabling compliance-driven software delivery across programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design and architect Polarion ALM solutions aligned with organizational business processes and compliance requirements.
- Define scalable architecture for workflows, data models, lifecycle management, security controls, permissions, and traceability frameworks.
- Create solution blueprints, architecture documents, design specifications, and implementation standards.
- Ensure complete lifecycle traceability across requirements, design, development, testing, verification, validation, and release artifacts.
- Drive ALM transformation initiatives and establish best practices across engineering teams.
Polarion Configuration & Implementation
- Lead end-to-end Polarion implementations including setup, configuration, controlled customizations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Configure projects, workspaces, work item types, custom fields, workflows, permissions, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
- Configure and manage LiveDocs, baselines, traceability matrices, approval workflows, and review processes.
- Implement Polarion governance models supporting software delivery, quality management, and regulatory compliance.
- Configure Polarion to support Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall methodologies.
Customization & Integration
- Develop and guide customizations using Polarion APIs, SDKs, scripting, and extension frameworks.
- Integrate Polarion with enterprise tools such as Jira, Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Test Management tools, and CI/CD platforms.
- Enable workflow automation, data synchronization, reporting automation, and process orchestration.
- Support migration activities from legacy ALM tools to Polarion.
Program Governance & Delivery Management
- Enable project and program execution through structured planning, tracking, and reporting mechanisms.
- Configure requirements management, risk management, task tracking, milestone management, and release planning processes.
- Establish governance frameworks for version control, baselines, releases, audits, and documentation management.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, quality teams, and engineering teams to drive adoption.
Compliance & Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Establish traceability and audit-ready processes for quality and compliance requirements.
- Support verification and validation processes through Polarion's traceability capabilities.
- Define and implement reporting dashboards, KPIs, and quality metrics.
Required Technical Skills
Mandatory Skills
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- Strong expertise in Siemens Polarion ALM Architecture and Administration.
- Hands‑on experience configuring Polarion workflows, LiveDocs, work items, permissions, baselines, and traceability.
- Experience with Polarion APIs, scripting, customization, and extension development.
- Strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) principles.
- Experience integrating Polarion with DevOps and CI/CD ecosystems.
- Expertise in requirements management, change management, risk management, and release management.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, ASPICE, ISO 26262, DO‑178C, IEC 62304, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira, and test management tools.
- Experience in regulated industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture and digital engineering practices.
