Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking an intermediate Product Analyst to help develop product plans, strategies, and tactics in coordination with the Product Management team.

The role focuses on promoting products to expand markets, increase market share, and strengthen Citi's competitive position. The position involves coordinating with multiple teams to ensure product quality, manage requirements, and support launches with detailed analysis and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of various systems and practices relevant to the function.
• Experience across multiple business cycles.
• Understanding of industry and competitor products/services.
• Experience designing/developing Java/J2EE client/server applications (5+ years).
• 3+ years with rule engines like Drools/JBoss BRMS.
• 3+ years with relational databases and SQL.
• 3+ years with Hibernate and Spring.
• Strong UNIX or Linux scripting knowledge.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed product requirements and conduct market readiness evaluations during testing to ensure goals are met.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve business issues related to technology projects with significant impact.
• Contribute to small product enhancements and minor customizations in technology projects.
• Serve as SME on product customization projects and influence decisions through guidance to others in specialization area.
• Document new products or changes and ensure smooth business implementation during launches, prioritizing dynamic material from multiple sources using analysis.
• Oversee marketing program lifecycle management including market demands, tech trends, and competition.
• Identify critical data process gaps or opportunities; provide data mapping support and build relationships with internal partners.
• Handle complex problems or transactions, interpreting policies and processes as needed.
• Assess risk in business decisions to safeguard Citi’s reputation and assets, escalating issues with transparency.

Job description

The Product Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for the development of product plans, strategies and tactics in coordination with the Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed product requirements and conduct market readiness evaluations during testing phases to ensure product quality and performance goals are met
• Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve business issues related to technology projects with significant business impact
• Participate in technology projects for small product enhancements and minor customizations
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on product customization projects and influence decisions through advice, counsel, and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization
• Document new products and/or changes to existing products, ensure smooth business implementation during launch process, and prioritize and validate potentially dynamic material from multiple sources using analytical skills
• Direct and oversee marketing program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and competitive field
• Understand critical data processes and technology components within the defined processes; identifying critical gaps and/or opportunities. Provide conversion and data mapping support. Develop trust-based relationships with critical internal business partners.
• Day-to-day focus is on resolution of complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of different systems, theories, and practices relevant to a function
• Practical experience of multiple business cycles
• Knowledge of industry and competitor products/services
• Working knowledge of strategic direction of the function within the business as well as a solid conceptual/practical grounding in function and/or area of expertise
• 5+ years of experience with design and development for Java/J2EE Client/Server applications.
• 3+ years of experience working with Rule engines like Drools/JBoss BRMS.
• 3+ years with relational databases and JDBC/SQL expertise.
• 3+ years of experience with Hibernate and Spring
• Strong UNIX or Linux knowledge with scripting expertise
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and communicate effectively with clients, management and other departments.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
