Job summary

Tech Data APAC seeks a Procurement Specialist in Chennai to manage purchasing between the company and vendors. This individual contributor role focuses on SAP-based PO creation, order fulfillment, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, and Compliance teams.

Candidate should have a diploma/degree in Business or Finance, 2+ years of experience (3+ without a degree), and SAP/ERP familiarity. Strong English and German communication are required for global coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor? or Diploma/Degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, ideally in IT multinational environment.
• If no degree, at least 3 years of solid work-related experience.
• Experience with SAP and/or ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Shared services experience and/or ability to work shifts is a plus.
• Strong English and German communication, problem-solving and independence in office settings.

Responsibilities

• Receive Sales Orders and create Purchase Orders in SAP.
• Communicate with stakeholders to address discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate data entry across involved systems.
• Monitor process flows to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Use SAP SD module to manage sales orders and ensure proper order processing.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) for data analysis and reporting.

The Procurement Specialist is required to primarily manage all purchasing activities between TD SYNNEX and vendors, so as to ensure the effective procurement and fulfillment of products and services to customer in a timely manner. This is an individual contributor position.

Responsibilities

• Receive Sales Orders (SO) and create Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP.
• Ensure timely communication with stakeholders to address any discrepancies.
• Maintain accuracy in data entry across all involved systems.
• Monitor the process flow to ensure timely task completion.
• Utilize the SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) module to manage sales orders and ensure accurate order processing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly:
• Excel/Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: For data analysis, reporting, and managing information related to SKUs, pricing, and PO details.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

• Diploma/Degree/Professional qualification in Business, Finance or other related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, ideally in IT multinational environment.
• At the minimum 3 years of solid work related experience, if does not possess a degree.
• Track record on Sales/Procurement Operations with SAP and/or ERP systems experience is an added advantage.
• Shared services experience and/or able to work shift would also be an added advantage.
• Have good communication in English & German, on the job understanding and problem solving skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, effectively in an office-based environment and under high pressure.
• Knowledge in MS Excel and Words is required.
